Today was the day for me to rebuild my rsst. I was feeling adventurous though so I decided I would try a silica setup since i got a lot of it just laying around from my vivi nova days. I used a good ~15cm of kanthal for the coil, dont remember the gauge but i had to twist it up to get 2.3 ohms. Anyway this is what i came up with
sorry for the image quality.. my phone camera sucks at focusing.
Anyway the biggest surprise was the difference in vapor consistency. Compared to a traditional genesis ss setup, this produced very, very fine vapor that was lower in volume but hangs in the air a lot longer. Also the nicotine hits very quick and hard, I felt like i had been chain vaping for an hour after just a few hits. Also since the coil is so heavy, it barely even fires at anything below 15w. The vapor also feels different, on a ss setup i get the distinct sensation of air mixed with vapor in a way that i can still somewhat tell the difference.. but on this one its like all vapor all day long.
Overall, its been an interesting experience but i don't like it
The vapor is too sneaky.
