So I've got a smoktech magneto. Was actually one of my favorite telescopic mods. Well until now. I'm not sure what happened but apparently the locking ring couldn't decide what it wanted to do, so it got really frustrated and now it won't budge out of the locked position, and I can't move it for the life of me. Thinking about just cutting off the locking ring, sanding the threads down and hopefully it won't look too gnarly, but before I do that, anybody have any ideas?

My Nemesis lock ring decides to clamp up for no reason at all sometimes, though it usually comes free after a bit of fiddling.

Try textured rubber workgloves like the NS Ruf-flex Lites (google that to find site)...the amount of torque these give you is incredible, they've popped things free from mods where otherwise I was going to have to use a vise grip.

One thing you can try is to take a rubber mallet. Put a cloth over the switch so you don't mark up your mod. Then, LIGHTLY tap around the perimieter of the locking ring. That should help to free it up. I did this with my Origin and it worked perfectly...

I have a Nemesis which has a very thin lock ring. If I squeeze it hard to get a good grip on it to turn it, it crushes a bit and so gets tight. When I can't unscrew it, I use three fingertips (2 fingers, 1 thumb), grip it loose enough so my fingers spin on the ring and tighten my grip slowly until I can unscrew it. Hasn't failed me yet :)

Good luck!
