so i started vaping last tuesday, i picked up an ego-twist and a vision vivi nova 2.5 kit and it was love at first vape. The idea of picking up an analog again still to this day has never crossed my mind. Then i tried cleaning it.. I followed pbusardo's tutorial to a T and for some reason i kept getting big clouds of vapor with zero flavor, it had a very watery taste so i figured it just wasnt dry. i dried and did a dry burn and saw white smoke coming from it and again set it up with the tank and same results. I switched the attys and was vaping fine for a bit and then it just stopped producing flavor again. so i chalk this up to a bad center piece and go and get another vivi nova. This time im getting flavor but the pull takes a lot of effort and im not getting the throat hit ive been accustomed to from this flavor no matter the voltage. i tried switching the atty this time and now im getting a ton of juice in my mouth with every hit.

when it works it works great but more often then not it doesnt.. I would love to just be able to take it apart and fiddle with something to get it just right but im not sure what else to do. Has anyone come across these issues and have a fix? could it just be my battery?

Make sure the centerpost is tightly screwed into the atomizer head before using. The little plastic/silica tophat thing can be lifted up "SLIGHTLY" to allow better wicking. Some cut a "V" shape where the wicks come out from the centerpost into that plastic/silica tophat.

Make sure the Vivi is securely twisted onto your battery. Its possible you got a dud, but its rare on these.

Hi Douglas,
I've had no problems with the Vivi. I clean mine after two tanks fulls. I use the 3.5ml Vivis. I don't dry burn. I leave the heads to air dry overnight and put in a another dry head to use.
When I first fill them I let them sit for 15 mins or so. I give them a quick roll and vape.
Don't know if that's any help but it works for me.

Hi Douglas...you are doing something wrong, that's for sure my guess would be that silica cap on your atty head is prolly pushed down too much..it should be sitting right above that thin rim above the ohms marking on your atty, and the top of the silica cap should be snug against the metal surface of the top cap while you screw that on. Also make sure the atty is tightly screwed onto the center base this should prevent any juice from getting into your mouth.

The tight draw could come from using the ego sleeve (in case you are using one) with no air holes (type B).. Tubes&Covers : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail the D type is preferred ,unless your vivi base already has the air holes(since some versions do). ...I am not sure about this, as you mentioned the draw was perfect initially so just a hunch.
I would also not recommend dry-burning at your stage, as it takes seconds to toast an atty...dry them using paper towels, it's much safer.
The Center pin has no play, in generating Flavor...they may get clogged up, but that's far far away in your case.
That's all I can come up with at the moment, hope it helps

Happy Vaping

I'm not quite sure why people have been suggesting not to dry burn the Vivi Novas. I've had my four Vivi Novas (both the regular size and minis) for over six weeks with all using their original wicks/attys. I rinse, dry burn, rinse and leave to air dry after every two or three fills. I use low voltage and stop when all coils show red. I also noticed that the resistance goes up on my Vivi Nova heads when the atomizer is dirty for the three heads I've checked with a cartomizer ohm reader.

That little silicone cap on the head has two ways it can go on. It needs to go funnel side up and flat side down if it's a Vision. The knockoffs have a little or big cone on top. I soak mine in alcohol for a good long time and use a spare while it soaks then wash the soaked head and dry it and then with the tank off and the silicone cap off i dry burn it on low voltage until any gunk on the coils burns off then rinse it one last time. I am still using the heads I got about month ago. Be careful if you cut the v shape on that silicone cap if you make it too big it may leak. I also put a drop of juice on the coil/wick or let it sit a while when I put in a fresh head. I sometimes even use a waterpick to rinse out the coil area you can just blow it out if you have good lungs or canned air. LOL

Good point, makes sense to me.

I also dry burn every few days and find my heads are now lasting over 6 weeks. a definite noticeable vape when they need cleaning and I rotate a number of them. I believe as peraspera pointed out in Post # 8...
"I rinse, dry burn, rinse and leave to air dry after every two or three fills. I use low voltage and stop when all coils show red." that dry burning until the coil glows red is very important.

I didn't suggest not to dry burn. I just don't bother with that myself these days. Dry burning and me have had an up and down relationship. :glug:

I've had a great run from the Vivis just replacing with a dry head, while the other dries. But dry burning works for folk too.

Howdy,

You harder draw....well, I have 2 of the Vision minis and bought 2 more in a DV order. The 2 DVs have smaller holes on the stem, take a look and you can see the difference. I haven't drilled the new ones out yet, someone else might comment about drilling them.

As to dry burning them, once I rinse mine ( I soaked them about once a month), I dry them with a paper towel, and I spend a lot of time blowing them out to get as dry as I can. Reassemble them and dry burn. When I dry burn, I do it in bursts of about 3-4 seconds. Burn, stop and blow on coils, burn, stop, blow on coils, until the coils all glow red. Has worked so far.

Good Luck,
Big Mac
