Man....that was fast......((hugs))....I am so sorry.

Yes, Classwife, it was... Now you can appreciate how blessed your friend is!!!

I hate the monster! Though it is now my life... :)

I don't want anyone else to live through something like this feeling completely alone, as I initially did. That's why I take any opportunity to talk about it. I am healed at this point. My Mom would be proud of me. I'm part of a pseudo-support group on Facebook - I reach out whenever someone new comes to the group. There are over 300 members in that group alone (survivors, caregivers, and those that have lost a loved one). I also volunteer for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to help spread the word.

Any time I go to a new forum, etc., I always do a search for PC (strange, I know LOL)... Someday, someone may do the same on this forum, and now they will find my post! Trying to pay it forward, ya know?

Kelly, I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad that quickly to lung cancer last September and know when it happens that fast, it is a shock.

From what I have seen of your posts here and what I just read on your blog, you are a handling it all with a grace that I can only imagine. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Kelly, my heart goes out to you over the loss of your Mom. I know how stressful it is. My Mom has been diagnosted with breast cancer and her PET scan doesn't look promising either. Doctor's are worried it has spread. She discovered a lump and the mamogram showed a lymph node infected as well. She is going to start chemo on Monday. She's 69 and in good health except for some more lymph nodes that look suspicious as well. Chemo killed a young man I grew up with. He died at 19 from it. I'm so scared that it will happed to Mom as well. I know how scared you were as I'm going through it also. Cancer in any form is horrific. Hugs to you and your family.

I lost my mom to thyroid problems almost 2 years ago (aggravated by lung cancer and heart problem) in one month. At first we thought is was just her weight loss..then her thyroid, which can be regulated normally. But it esculated to dementia and loss of kidney funtion almost over night. From Friday night when she ate a big spaghetti supper, bathed and walked. to Sunday being out of her mind and bedridden!
It's like you are watching some one fade away before your eyes and you are helpless.

I am so sorry for your loss and I know how proud your mom is of you.

Thank you, Neva! Cancer sucks. I lost my father to lung cancer in 2004 - though it was a more prolonged illness... :(

I pray for your Mom, hairball... I pray that it has not spread.

See.. we ALL have suffered, yet cancer is such a TABOO subject. I think I read recently that 1:2 men, and 1:3 women will be affected/effected by cancer in their lives. Something HAS to change. Early detection has helped many cancer types, but there is so much more that can be done, I believe.

Thank you, all for sharing your stories as well!!!

I showed Pirate your blog (it was his Mom we lost to PC) and he cried and cried, but healing tears, so Thank You, yet again, for all that you do, for Cancer in general, but especially PC. (Like Ovarian Cancer used to be, just swept under the rug) Probably you will never know the number of people you have helped heal and touched in such a warm, wonderful way just by sharing. It takes faith, guts, and drive to be so dedicated to eradicating the social taboos of 'The Big C.' May God bless you, your family, and every single person you hold dear.

Sorry I've been MIA this weekend... MK, no I have not. Frankly, I didn't even know that "wellness, wrecked and bonkers" existed!! I'll check it out. Thank you!

WOW! I have incredible goosebumps, Miss Kitty! I am glad Pirate found healing in my words.... they really were written out rather quickly so that I could explain to my friends what had happened in my life in such a short time! Now? I'm so glad I did it, because it helps me remember what me and my brothers and sisters experienced - AND what my Mom went through.

Thank you ALL for sharing your similar experiences! xoxo
