Guess my Vision Extreme I just filled with delicious, nutritious Juggy's VG RY4 thought it was "better to burn out than to fade away" when I went to take a puff just now. We are not amused.

It had been sitting for a while, so it wasn't really hot to begin with or anything, and I specifically bought a standard resistance version to deal with higher voltages. Even so, my LT was only set to 4.4 volts at the time. I think I'd put about 6 or 7 tankfuls of juice through it previously, and I'd cleaned it a couple of times, so it's not really a question of it reaching the end of its lifespan, either. Siiiigh.

Must be one of those freak drops in resistance or something. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Here's a thought. It's dead.. chuck it and slap on a new one! LOL.

There was a time I was going through LR atties like crazy, sometimes 2 or 3 a day. Turned out they were just made badly and it wasn't anything I was doing wrong.

These things are not indestructible and while you may occasionally get an atty/carto that lasts a really long time, those are the exceptions but the norm would be the ones that last maybe a week or two.

All I know is I can buy stuff and get 7 of them. Clearomizers, atomizers, cartomizers, whatever. And some work great and some just don't! I think China needs alot of quality control. S(*t happens I guess. I have been trying to figure it out myself.

Ok, well now that that's over with... Yeah. I used to work in tech, so I know anything can fail sooner than it's expected to and that's just a part of living with manufactured goods. Just didn't know if I was doing something odd that I shouldn't have been doing. I didn't think so, but it's always good to have a second opinion or two.

Also, I really wanted to use the Neil Young reference.

Edit: Seems kind of appropriate that my 187th post deals with me killing a clearomizer.

I believe it is an oxymoron if you use "China" and "quality control" in the same sentence. Just saying.

To check for a pulse you can use an ohm meter. If there is a reading then the center post is not making contact and has to be pulled down a bit.

Even a ProVari can't check the ohms if both contacts are not connecting.

Just grasping at straws here but we wouldn't want to bury a friend unless he was officially pronounced dead!

the wicks in those is fiberglass I think,it burns to a void leaving the coil on its own

I wish they were bottom coiled though...I liked them,and still do.

The coil definitely popped. I saw the flash, just like an incandescent light bulb burning out. It's more annoying than anything else, really.

I picked up a couple with my order of stardusts and the first one lasted two tanks of juice and just died, and the other one I can't stand to use because of condensation buildup under the tip so its gurgling all the damn time or I end up with juice stuck in the tip between the grey plastic that the little silicone nub.

The flavour wasn't bad out of them though, I'll give it that.

I use them on my Vmax,when they start gurgling,I up the voltage a couple points and voila...no more gurgling/

Agreed,its a bit of fiddling but heh,mine last a long time and i dont throw anything out until its properly dead
