Hi there folks, Iv been vaping for a whole 2 weeks now and loving it. Will defo get me of the dreaded analogs this time, after trying everything under the sun to quit with no luck. Havnt had a smoke since I satarted 2 weeks ago and sooooo proud of myself and as you can imagine Im reckomending it to everyone, even the non smokers lol. Anyhowz started off with the Joye 510, that was fantastic, didnt over order as I had never even tried one and didnt want to waste a whole bunch of cash. Second order, I got the 510 T and lots of nice juices from HG which came today, was dead excited and got it going, not happy, its like sucking a stick, there seems to be no air flow and have ended up with sore jaws and a sore head just with having to draw so hard on it. Getting a decent vape and t/h but phew Im exhausted. Any ideas out there? Am I doing something wrong or is it always like that.
Also got a passthrough which isnt working. Put the Ion battery in correctly (I double checked) plugged it into my computer USB port and diddly squat, left it for a few hours, still the same. Is it just me or what. Any help and advice would be appreciated muchly

Hi Scotty, Welcome to ECF and I'm proud of you too! It just feels so darn good to finally come out on top of those nasty cigs. Your doing GREAT!!!!!!!!

It sounds to me like the stick batteries just aren't cutting it for you. They didn't do it for me either. You need more power IMHO if your sucking that hard. Tanks haven't gotten that great of reviews as of yet either. There are other options for you though.... Have you concidered a bigger battery? That may be the next step for you.....Don't worry were here to help!!!!!!

Congratulations on quitting the analogs , and welcome to the forums . What Beans said , is about right , you may want to find a cheap big battery mod . They have more power , and the batteries last way longer . An E-Power , is a good starter , mod . It's similar in size and looks of an Ego , but cheaper , and uses regular batteries , that are cheaper to replace , than the Ego's . I think MadVapes , as well as several other sell them .

never charge the 510 batteries in the 510-T charger - they can fry.

Use HIGH PG juices, not more than 30% VG in the tanks though some 50/50 juices may work if the vendor thins them

Keep your attys clean - learn how to clean them. A gunked up atty will vape weakly with poor flavor

Avoid juices that drop a lot of atty-clogging (and carto-clogging) flavoring sediment. The worst culprits are usually dark juices that are hard to see through but even some light juices can drop sediment. Find alternate juices.

Try cartomizers. Most people prefer cartomizers over tanks. Try cartos for your favorite juices. The most popular cartos are Boge for 510-threaded devices. Only use standard resistance (2.5 ohms and up) on slim ecigs. The standard resistance Boges are 2.8-3.2 ohms. Cartomizer = your fave juices are totally separate and every carto has a new atomizer. I can get a week or more good use out of a Boge carto with thin (20% VG or less) clear juices.

Use manual batteries. Less work, easier to get a good hit (you can drag however softly you want, and can press the button early so there is already vapor when you start your drag), much safer from damage by carto leaks or dripping. Most people here use and recommend manuals.

thanks u guys. I think I might have had the tank in wrongly as I used another one this morning and it was a bit better. All a learning excersise at the moment. I'll swap between the cartos and tanks for a bit till I find my true love. Making my way through all my new flavours is fun. Have bought all dekang flavours for the time being, not sure if any others are better but want to keep things simple in case I get stressed and revert to you know what lol.
Dormouse...Im confused u say "never charge the 510 batteries in the 510-T charger - they can fry" the chargers I got with each starter pack are identical as is the batteries. However I still just have the original 510 charger plugged in and use it for both, no need to have 2 on the go.
Any ideas on the passthrough anyone, I left it plugged into the computer all night and still dead, sent an email to HG, awaiting reply. But it would cost more to return it than its worth, hoping they send me another free but I doubt it :(

2 weeks smoke free....avoided 350 analogs.....saved $196 (It will do till I get a proper 1) :)

Which kind of PT? if it has a real inline battery (the kind of PT you can walk around with once it is charged), it supposedly should work on the computer because it really only charges the battery and you vape off the battery. If it is a normal PT then NO - you could damage the computer. A normal PT can draw over 1 amp so you need to use a 2amp AC to USB adapter for it.

I recommend these - you can either charge 4 assorted batteries on it OR use a PT. Do not do both or every time you drag the PT it will interrupt the power supply to the chargers and that could damage the batteries.

4 port 2 amp (2000mA) Rosewill RUC6180 (or for a more international one see RUC6181)
Amazon.com: Rosewill USB Travel Charger Adapter RUC-6180: Electronics

I have one at work and one at home. I could use 2 at home because I currently have my PCC, and 2 more slim ecig batteries on separate AC to USB adapters I had from various kits (ones that output suitable mA for each charger cable i.e. the same or ore than they need).

Thanks again for the advice u guys, Im still a bit all over the place trying to find whats right for me and getting a bit panicy when thing go wrong cause I dont want to have the fail moment and light up a smoke. I think the tanks are ok now, gettin used to them. Some of the flavours seem to linger in the attys though, even though I blow them out well. Iv never actually tried any other method of cleaning them yet. Might try what dormouse has suggested, an atty for each flavour once I work out which flavours I like. I have bought 9 all up and only keen on 3 of them so far, wasting a lot of $ at the moment but thats ok as I'd have spent a lot more on smokes anyway. It turned out the PT was faulty anyway and HG will replace it, so thats ok.
Because Im not long off the smokes I find the fruit flavours are ok for a while but then just need a hit of tobacco, any suggestions on a good strong tobacco flavour. Hilton is the closest I have but still a bit weak or should I up from 24mg to 36mg maybe

Upping the level of nicotine will not change the flavor, or strength of flavor, as nicotine is flavorless. I'm not sure what suppliers ship to Australia but any liquid flavors are very subjective, you have to find what you like. Buy small bottles, lots of flavors, and you'll find a few that hit you with a WOW....

I found menthol gives me a hit, even though I hated menthol smokes.
For me, licorice and anise flavors helped me kick the smokes, and are still among my favorites.
Others wouldn't touch them and I wouldn't touch some of their favorites. :)

There is a pretty good learning curve to using those tanks. I didn't care for them but I'm picky. Other folks love them. Search around here and look for information on them or post a thread yelling out for help. Welcome and congrats on getting off the cigs.

Tank kits are either hit or miss for people, I think. The 510T kit I started with...I LOVE the smart PCC...but I can't stand the atomizers or how quickly the batteries run out of power. I just got a Ramiya R2-750 from Analog Alternative and I LOVE the tank set up on that. It only uses a very tiny bit of filler and it doesn't leak all over the place. The R2-750 is an eGo type with 510 connections but I have never seen this tank set up with any other model. They're clear too, so I can see when the juice is running low...that helps a lot.

Stosh Im liking the sound of the Anise flavour, havnt seen it anywhere and would love to know where you get it. I love a few drinks of Anice or ouzo on a Sat nighr, this would just be the bees knees/
Shannon I love the look of the R2-750, looks like a good vape but as Im a female it might look a bit big and not so lady like but good for home use. Thanks

Scotty66, congrats on quitting! I've gotten that panicky feeling that it's not working out as smooth as I'd like it too as well, and was worried that I would smoke a ...., but it passes and the equipment starts working again! Thank goodness! Going on week two for me and I definitely relate to a little panic. I've found that I am much happier with a bigger battery. Oh.. and thumbs up on the Madvapes Topvape Black Licorice, good stuff.

sorry about the double post earlier, wondered where my post went, now I see theres a page 2. Found the anise juice in reaction electronics, thanks Stosh...
Mafig, I tried that with a small screwdriver as HG suggested it, it seemed to be turning but not going anywhere. Iv since heard about how it can possibly damage my pc so gone off the idea of it now anyway.
Kempo... I sometimes get a random leakage and never sure why, probably drawing too hard, I'll get the hang of this soon I hope, as im writing this just got a mouthful of cherry juice lol.
Brando, thanks, and congrats to you too, keep up the good work. I find it seems to be harder if Im havin a few drinks, I find myself enjoyin the smell of hubbies analog but have managed to control it with the help of constant puffin on a tobacco flavour.
Has anyone had problems with how food tastes? I read before in here that your tastebuds all come back, but Iv had the opposite and food all seems to be tasteless and I have to force myself to eat. I quit smoking 2 years ago (well managed 10 weeks) and food just tasted heavenly, I was hopin for that again, but its not happening

Taste is very related to smell, once they recover from the years of abuse, they do come back :)
My own theory but when you're vapeing on strong flavors, kicking the analogs, chain vaping....
the flavors in the juice can overpower your nose. If you can't smell, you can't taste, BUT as you
get more comfortable with your PV, find the flavors you like, actually vape less (it will happen eventually)
your taste does slowly return.

For me the realization was in a restaurant, when I could smell the cooking from the kitchen, my meal
before I took a bite, other's meals at my table......for the first time in I don't know how many years :)

I found the same thing Scotty66....I actually wanted the 510T when I first started looking at vaping but ended up going with the eGo-T just for the longer lasting batteries. I love it (and have been smoke free coming up to 4 months) but wanted something a little 'girlier'....I ended up getting the Joye 510 Mega in Blue for when i'm out and about and at parties...much sexier :p

I still always have my eGo batteries with me and use them at home but as i'm chained to my laptop atm i'm seriously considering a USB passthrough.

Have you checked out the Aussie section of ECF? There's heaps of information about how we 'do it' down under ie. DIY

Great to see another Aussie chick on board with vaping :)
