I just bought a new atomizer and it's really hard to vape now. there's way too much resistance, it's like trying to suck caramel through a syringe. and it tastes like the bad after taste of my nice tasting liquid.

I read that this COULD just be it "breaking in" but i don't wanna vape it to find out. Can I just hold down the battery button thing once every now and then to break it in without actually having to inhale the thing, or will that not work?

I got one with a horrid burnt metallic taste. I figured it was just the primer juice, so I blew it out thoroughly, reprimed with juice, still metal/burnt...Cleaned it overnight, let it dry two days, still not vapable, terrible burnt paint/metal taste. Contacted the seller who said...only guaranteed to fire, no refund. Finally pitched it. I have found other places of order off the internet...can't imagine that an atomizer that cost $7 or 8 dollars was worth losing a customer over. I think I spent more than $100 on that order alone.

All that, and you never did say what kind of atomizer you have (and no one asked)

So now let's clear up a few things. There is nothing wrong with running hot water through your atty. You will even find that water is a common e-liquid ingredient used to thin VG. There is also nothing wrong with blowing it out from the top. Gunk builds up in the bottom of an atty. Why would you want to blow that gunk up into the atty instead of out the bottom? So if you have water in your atty, just blow some e-liquid through it, the water is juice soluble.

Now for the problem. Every type of atty has different air flow requirements. Some are stiffer than others by design. How an atty is mounted on a PV can influence air flow greatly. Some atties have a sealed center pin, some an open center pin. Some atties have two side holes in the connector, some only one. Hell the 901 atty even has an air hole in the side of the tube. So how can anyone actually answer the question without knowing what kind of atty we are dealing with (and what PV it is being used on)

If you look at the atty on my Reo in my avatar pic (the square PV), you might notice that it has a drip shield on it (and an unsealed extension under it). Those accessories are not for looks, they are there for air flow management.

Are you sure you have an Atomizer & not a Clearomizer? They are two VERY different things:(

You can wash a atty with water or alcohol. I dry mine in the toaster oven on 150. A quick test can you draw threw the atty ok when its not screwed in to the mod? If yes then ist your mod causing air flow obstruction. You can use a adapter to remedy this problem. It could just be a stiff draw atty it sounds like its way to stiff from your description. So IM guessing its not functioning right you can take a tooth pick and try to clear out the air passages also blowing rubbing alcohol threw it can help some time I would blow it threw both directions a few times each.
