I am not completely new to vaping. About 4-5 years ago I bought a Joy 510 and tried it for about 2-3 weeks before my dog discovered that the tips ("carts" now) were especially tasty doggy treats and chewed up every single one I had. At the time I was down to 4 or so analogs a day from an almost 2 packs a day 40 year history.
Of course I went right back to analogs and then recently a close friend started vaping and got me to thinking about trying it again. I had 2 Joy batteries, 2 atomizers and no tips to fill but I remembered that part of the reason I never went back to them was how messy it was to refill them and what a pain it was to clean them, having to use tweasers to take out the stuffing, squeeze stuffing in towels and then dry them and stuff them back into the tips to refill, with liquid dripping all over the place. I realize Joy now has a tank 510T system (which requires different atomizers than the 510) but due to my previous messy experiences with a Joy I wanted to start all over again. Now that ecigs are 2 pieces instead of 3 that really simplifies things as well.
So I started researching and though my friend insisted I should get a V2 I settled on a Halo G6 which I ordered yesterday and should get here by tomorrow. I chose Halo for their good reviews and because it is an American company, in fact just a few miles down the road from me in New Jersey. I also saw many comments about V2's carts tasting burnt when almost done (like my 510 did) and how Halos vapers did not have the same experience nearly as much. My friend with the V2 orders all his juice (tried his with Tribecca and really loved it) from Halo so I also figured it would be better to order everything from the same place, especially since Halo (as well as V2) seem to both have reps for quality products.
The Joy 510 was ok, gave me a good throat hit, but never enough vapor for my satisfaction and whenever filling a tip I'd get a nasty taste for about at least 10 puffs since somehow juice almost always would wind up in the mouthpiece no matter how careful I was. The batteries would also die out very very quickly.
My plan is to use the G6 whenever I go out and about and assuming I like it to also buy the Triton for home use. I figured the Triton, which looks really cool, would be too big and noticeable to use in social settings but really great at home for its extra vapor and longer battery life. I bought a sampler and some blank carts for the G6 and as soon as I figure out which juice I like best I am going to switch over to the clearomizers to make filling and cleaning even simpler and less messy. I figure it is a lot cheaper to use carts than clearomizers just to sample.
As soon as my G6 is delivered I am going to try to go cold turkey on analogs this time. My only concern is that maybe the nico level I ordered (1.8) might not be enough.
One more thing. Since I have a home office and am sitting at a computer all day I think a pass through battery is a must for me, something I forgot to order when getting the starter kit
So how is my plan sounding? Any recommendations would be welcomed.
