It's interesting that he originally tried almond and it failed, then tried hazelnut and it just worked (very small %) Not enough to be a actual flavor in the recipe, but just enough to add a "quality" to the strawberry. I used to wonder why some people would put a very small % of something in a recipe (does it really matter) and now I've found it can (like vanilla custard... was just too much for me, but at very small amounts... a little goes a long way)
Exactly. I actually do add Mango to Peach, and yes, Dragonfruit is like this universal thing to add to fruits (that reminds me... I'm all out, need to order some more) I tend to avoid sweetener, but will admit some fruits need just a bit.I look at it as giving the flavour body (for lack of better terminology). A single strawberry flavour could taste like strawberry, but lacks that body, nuances, or subtle flavour notes. Mixing in a another flavour at small percentages can just add those missing notes. Like adding a touch of mango to peach. Or even a touch of sweetener. You’ll see Dragon Fruit used a lot in this manor as well.
All the noted videos are quite useful. You get different opinions on flavors, once you watch a couple you'll know who has similar tastes as your own.Great video, I appreciate you for posting it.
Dragon fruit is more an emulsifier to meld the flavors into one imo. It does very well with strawberry and orange flavors. Also a good enhancer for hibiscus.I look at it as giving the flavour body (for lack of better terminology). Which one? I've only tried TFA and it's kinda like "juicy fruit"gum.I like dragon fruit as a single.

I haven't tried it, but seems like the perfect thing for me (I like berries) but didn't really like TFA berry mix... at higher % had an off note, so FA forest fruit sounds perfect. It was already on my wishlist.Have you tried Forest Fruit FA?
Thanks@dennism , it depends on if you want lots of graham crust (or you can add that yourself)
These are supposed to be the best ones (I just got PUR NY cheesecake myself from River Supply)

That's funny... we have two right across the street from each other (and yes, too bitter and WAY too expensive) I just got 3 lbs of Folgers (at Costco) for $10.I swear I live in the last city on earth to NOT have a Starbucks.
