I started smoking when I was 15. Off and on for years, it was my go-to vice. I completely quit cold turkey each time I was pregnant with my three kids, but after the first two, I started again, like an idiot (after 10 mos without cigs, the only reason to start again is the mental thing, certainly not because of an addiction).
I never smoked in my house, or in the car, or around my kids, so needless to say, it was becoming incredibly inconvenient. When I got pregnant with my third, I decided that I was no way going to start again after the birth. I remained smoke free for 6 years. Last year however, I was going through a really bad divorce, got weak on a night out with a smoker friend, and had a few. After that I started buying my own, and within a month I was smoking again full time. I have never regretted anything as much as I do that first cigarette that night.
Anyway, I never intended to keep smoking for long, but weeks turned into months, and before I knew it, it had been a year.
About two months ago, I decided it was time to quit the analogs for good. The problem: I didn't have a solid unquestionable motivation like I did when I was pregnant. A friend recommended Blu (because I have always "enjoyed" smoking and think it's more a habit for me than an addiction). I purchased the starter kit, and for a while, it immediately cut my pack a day habit down to one or two analogs a day. For that, I was grateful. After a while, even though it kept me from smoking "as much", I knew that it wasn't going to keep me from analogs completely. I needed "bigger and better". I've since purchased the Halo Triton starter kit, and am LOVING it!! I'm experimenting with different juices (thanks to lots of awesome juice reviews on the forums), and am finding what I love. I have still been having an analog or two each night, but I'm finding myself enjoying them less and less. During the day, even given the choice between vaping and analogs, I choose to vape. After this pack I have is gone, I'm not buying anymore.
I just placed an order for a few BWB juices that come highly recommended, and a few G6 mini tanks so I can test out all these new flavors I got
For so long, I resented having to quit smoking...I knew I was quitting for very good reasons, but I hated that I had to quit, because I enjoyed it so much. Now I feel like we have a truly great alternative that will allow us to enjoy the best things that we loved about smoking, and none of the bad.
I am currently vaping all 18% nic blends, but I intend to step it down to 0 nicotine over time.
Anyway, this was a lot of rambling, but I'm hoping to help some of my friends and family see the benefits of vaping, and also quit smoking for good. Just wanted to share, and do a post....thanks to everyone for sharing your insight, your feedback, and just general support, as this has become a regular site that I visit for information and support along my journey.
Thanks for reading!
