I have smoked for just over 16 years, a little more than a pack of Marlboro Lights per day. On Friday last week, when I walked into 7-11 I got a wild hair to buy one of the njoy disposables. I got in the truck opened it up and started puffing away. The sensation was great but I soon realized that I felt I was smoking a piece of candy. I stopped by my local smoke shop later that day and grabbed a V2 with a charger. That was so much better.
Again being the strange kind that I am, I thought, "there has to be better".
Bring on Saturday morning I am standing in another smoke shop buying an Atmos RX starter kit.
I can't put it down.
So here I am cigarette free for 4 days now (longest I have ever been since I went through boot camp in '97) and I have no desire to smoke a cigarette.
I am already up to 2 Atmos Rx batteries, a couple flavors of juice, and I converted an old OTTER box that I have into my vape box.

I have spent the last few days browsing the forums here, tying to learn, and I want to thank the folks that contribute to this site as you have made it easy to learn about this awesome new hobby that is going to help my health.

Later this week I plan to get an extra bottle of the juice I got from the vape shop that just opened close to me. They have some they call "Virginia Gold" and the flavor to me closely resembles a Marlboro Light (maybe its a bit heavier than a Light but it is pretty close).
I drive over 80 miles a day and decided I needed the 2 batteries so I can always have one charged. I don't want to have a bad craving and find a dead battery.

I have collected ink pens, zippos, watches, you name it during my life, so I assume my collection will grow over time but I think I should be set for the near term as far as equipment goes.

Oh, and for anyone in the Petersburg/Richmond area of Virginia the local shop I went to apparently just opened a week and a half ago. The name I believe is Jinco Vapors (now that I type it I'm sure thats not right) but it over close to the mall in Colonial Heights.

edit: Thanks for the welcome Mark & Flamingo

2 batteries are great but we all suggest having back ups for your back ups!!

You definitely want backups for your backups. It may sound like a joke but it's not. What happens when the power goes out? You break a tank? The coil you thought was your backup is a dud? Dog runs off with your bottle of juice (do NOT let that happen)? Vape mail is late? In vaping you can't have too much stuff, lol.

Plug the thingy into the cigarette lighter in the truck: you can get those at radioshack;

and plug the bypass into the usb; same usb you would use to charge the batteries with the charging cable.

$6 for the bypass/passthru at fasttech ($5.58)

Welcome to ECF. Congratulations on quitting cigarettes. Lots to read and learn here. Can and does get real confusing in the beginning. I am going to give you a few links to help you get some info out of the way. May save you a little time and money down the road.

Here is a link that does a lot of talk about tobacco liquids and has reviews and vendor info.

Here is a good place to trade juices you do not like for others to try. It is fun.

Here are a couple that explain about juices that can melt plastic tanks; this one is important.

Hopefully this will give you enough information to get you started vaping happily. Have fun and enjoy not smoking.
