Ok, so the folks that answered all my questions and helped belay my fears have already seen this, but I'm making this my official "Here is my first Reo" post. So far it has been everything everyone has said it was going to be. I still have my other mods, but for the last week that I've had my Reo, they have barley been used. The Reo really is all I need for my all day vape. I still grab my copper Namish (full copper clone inspired by the Nemesis) and Stillare dripper when I want to try a different flavor or blow some clouds for fun, but the Reo is now ALWAYS with me.

So here is my LP Reo Grand Copper Vein with brass button and brass non-LP (oops) RM2.

Since I was warned by multiple Reonauts that there seems to be an issue with the copper & silver vein finishes darkening and discoloring from hand oils after only a few weeks/months, I spray painted mine as soon as I could with automotive clear coat. (Dupli-Color Perfect Match Clear coat works incredibly well. Dries fast, doesn't change the color of the mod, and doesn't run)

I took a couple more photos, but I was paying more attention to the Reo and clear coat than I was the camera so they were pretty much unusable.

After it was dry I put it all back together and here is what my Reo looks like when I carry it around with me all day every day.

Needless to say I am so completely satisfied with my first Reo that I feel like I need a cigarette.... oh wait, I'll just grab my Reo.

Even though I'm happy as a clam (I've always wondered what makes clams so happy) with my LP Reo Grand, I still want to get a LP Reo mini, but I want to try the new SL Reos. Does anyone know if Rob is planning on bringing out SL-LP Reo Minis? I know they are already small and lighter than the "full sized" Reos, but I want a Reo that is the superest lightest Reo around.

I will also post a photo of my baby when she gets a new dress (Brass engraved door) that is on the way to me as I type.

Everyone have a wonderful Mother's Day/Sunday. I know I am going to.

Congrats and it looks great! I just got my second LP REO Grand and it was a tough decision between Hammertone Silver and Copper Vein. I decided on the Hammertone Silver as I am a huge fan of anything silver. I have silver Tundra and my wife has a silver SUV!

The brass topper and button cover look great on it. I wonder what a brass door will look like on that mod...???

Thanks and I think it's going to look awesome with the brass RM2 and button cover. I'm hoping they will all get even and equally tarnished.

I will post a picture as soon as I get it. Which should be soon. (Expected Delivery Day: Monday, May 12, 2014)

Woo! Reo for the win! I just got mine on Friday and I love it to death. I sold my Provari and other stuff for 260 bucks just so I could make room in my vape budget for it, and have zero regrets. After looking over the really long thread about the upgraded contacts, it seems we are lucky to have gotten into it when we did, to avoid the painstaking wait of the new repair kit. Here's mine:

Just a standard 28 gauge microcoil. .9 ohms I believe. I had a Riptrippers abyss coil on there earlier today (32 gauge wrapped with #500 mesh as the physical coil, not wick) but it had a pretty long spool time, and I like the instant vapor that a standard microcoil gives. Lots of cotton lets me vape it more before having to squonk.

Mine is a LP Grand in black wrinkle. I drilled the RM2 cap to 1/16" or 5/64". Not entirely sure which bit I grabbed but it's a very satisfying vape. I might get another RM2 in brass, and a brass button cover to change the looks up a bit, plus I sort of miss the smaller air hole. Really slammed me with the nicotine with that smaller hole.

Welcome to Reoville!

Oh and I want to thank whomever posted about using a piece of packing foam as a squonking aid/battery rattle preventer. It works great. I'm sorry I forgot and cannot find the post or your name that I saw it in.

Can you post a pic of that yourself? I'm interested to see how that's set up

Edit: Kentastic, the Non LP RM2 actually doesn't look too shabby on the LP Reo. I'm actually not entirely sure he has LP brass RM2's, but I need to score myself one of those

brickfollett I love the wrinkle texture. Makes it feel grippy in the hand. I've got a .8 or so 26 gauge micro coil in mine with very little cotton yarn. I don't mind the squonking and have found that cotton yarn seems to wick better and hold more than just straight cotton balls, plus I like the fact that between the small wick that allows the juice to drain back into the bottle and the screw on top of the RM2, I have absolutely no leaks what so ever. As long as I take at least one or two hits off my freshly squonked Reo I can just throw it in my pocket and feel safe from the sticky.

Very nice. Yeah over squonking is certainly more of a concern with my larger intake hole. I haven't delved into cotton yarn quite yet, I'm still trying to decide if I want to to a full mesh, or mesh hybrid build, something like this one on my old Russian 91%

Awesome guys! Congrats. Nice photos too - mine is in transit - the suspense is doing my head in.

Ouch and you can't even stalk the mailman on Sundays! That's what sucks about those Thursday or Friday orders is that dang Sunday. Is it going all the way to New Zealand for you? I thought me and Kentastic were far away! Washington and California respectfully, certainly not spitting distance from Reo HQ in Maine if I'm not mistaken?

WOW that is a whole lot more cotton than you need! Remember a REO is about "squonking"... keep your juice in the bottle. Squonk to deliver fresh juice and vape. You will get the best vape and flavor by doing so. To each their own although I think you will have a better experience as less is more with these mods, you don't have to treat it like your top fed drippers!

From what I understand you just sand the regular chrome LP RM2s and they are brass underneath, but yes, that's why I ended up with the non LP brass one. I specifically asked for a brass RM2. So totally my ignorance, but I think it looks fine.

The squonk hole cover is just a thin piece of packing material. You cut it to it's a little larger than the hole so you can just push it in and it will pop into the hole and not come back out. The thickness is just trial and error. Start thick and then trim some off and try and see if it fits in there without bulging out too much.

Here is the packing material I cut it from. I don't even remember what this was from, but I see the same kind of stuff all the time as an alternative to styrofoam.

Yeah - its "in transit" every time I look. Which could be anywhere between here and New York. Glad you guys are enjoying yours. :toast:

Yeah I figured I would get scorned for using that much cotton. It's a much more satisfactory experience for me though. I prefer the occasional squonk rather than the frequent squonk. Plus when I first built it, it looked like a heart, and I can show that to the wife and make her smile. Happy wife=Happy brickfollett haha

Mostly I prefer to not have dry hits that might put me on a stretcher lol, especially with SS mesh involved (not shown in this build). SS mesh gives some nasty nasty dry hits if things go bad.

But hey, I like it and it works for me, I like it nice and juicy in there. I'm typically pretty conscious about the positioning of my device and where the air hole is pointing, so I'm not overly concerned about leakage.

Kentastic, I'm having a hard time seeing what's going on with that packing material. Got an alternate view, or a view with the door removed so we can better understand what's going on?

Yep, I agree with pauly3. (friggin poet over here) Here is a semi-crappy camera phone picture of my coil:

It works great for a good 4-5 nice long vape hits before I need to squonk again. (juice is dark, makes the wick look burnt, but it isn't.)

I can get a good 10-15 three second hits off mine. Just the way I prefer mine built.

There is a lot of diversity in Reoville. Personally I say lets welcome it with open arms! =] That Boba's Bounty is really doing it for me right now. Low on juice and that's all I have left. Haven't really cared for it until now

Oh not scorned Brick, just suggestions. Like you said whatever works for you to get a good vape.

Here is some alternate pictures. Hopefully enough to get the idea. I gave this a try and it works great for me, other people may hate the way it looks or think it makes squonking too hard or something, but I like it.

Interesting... Probably not something I would go for. I think a major perk of the squonking hole is being able to have a visual on your remaining juice. Like the innovation though! What kind of battery is that? I'm using Sony VTC5 flat tops and its working great. I have an AW IMR 18650, and the nice thing about that is that the button has a markedly shorter throw because of the button top. I like the 30 amp battery limit though, just an additional protection in the case of a short.

I almost find myself wishing that the spring wasn't there, because I personally feel like these batteries in particular are regarded as being "safe" enough to handle a nasty situation like that. Also, if the spring weren't there, the voltage drop would likely be less.

More of a personal thing than anything. Honestly, that design should remain to protect users. It's a simple safety mechanism that has saved many a cloud chaser from a bad situation.

Shoot, as good of a vape as it is, I should just keep my yapper shut :D

Edit: By no spring, I mean supplementing for a solid silver plated brass rod or something like that. Not a clue how it would work, but I'm just chasing unicorns to be honest

I agree just helping with what is tried and true. You are new and will adjust to what is best. I started with what the veterans recommend and have enjoyed it very much. You must recognize one thing though, squonking is a way of life and a given when owning a REO. If squonking is tedious or you prefer to avoid it then you want a ProVari with a tank! Just my 2 cents and I'm not here to offend just help you out!

By delivering fresh juice often you will avoid cooking it when you are keeping it up top especially with a thick and heavy juice like Boba's
