Finally, somebody who may know something about this.

I want to get my daughter a really nice flashlight for work. She works in the ER and needs measure patients pupillary response. Is there a high quality flashlight that isn't super bright that you could recommend? Perhaps with adjustable output? Something small to fit in a pocket?

I recently purchased a ShiningBeam I-mini. ShiningBeam I-mini Cree XP-G R5 Tactical LED Flashlight 260 Lumens

I haven't had a chance to use it much, but it seems to work well so far. It is "infinitely" adjustable from 7 to 260 lumens, which is quite a range. This package deal comes with a lot of extras, including a spare tube so you can use either 16340 or 14500 Li-ion batteries, or AA or CR123 alkalines. Quite a deal for $30 in my opinion. The reviews I read for ShiningBeam on a few forums were almost all positive.

I was looking to buy another Olight T10, which is a great small, pocket friendly flashlight. But it would appear that they are no longer in production and this was the closest I could find to it in size and performance. The I-mini is the same size as the T10, but the T10 only has 3 pre-set brightness levels and a strobe mode.
