Hi Everyone.
So I'm still pretty new to the e-cig. I've had them for a few weeks now.
One thing I was told about is that sometimes, with an automatic, it is possible for fluid to drip into the battery and basically screw it up. Now the 901 isn't supposed to be as sensitive as others, but it still can happen.
So today, I had my automatic 901 battery connected to my standard 901 atty and cart. I am still trying to find out what the sweet fill mark is on them and today I think I may of overfilled it.
I was vaping now and then in public while being careful to keep my vape to myself. I keep mine assembled and in an eyeglass case to keep it vertical in my pocket. Normally I have it so the cart is on the bottom.
8-o Here is the painful part. While watching the game I started to smell the familiar smell of burning cart. I open my coat pocket and it was me! I pulled out the 901 and it actually was so hot it burned my fingers. I had to use napkins to unscrew the battery. The battery was stuck on and even when unscrewed the light kept glowing. I even have blisters from the burn.
Apparently juice leaked into the battery and kept it on. My batteries do not apparently have the 5 second cutoff or it wasn't working. I had no idea it could get that hot. It actually melted a bit of the cart!! It also stank really bad.
So now I got home, did a quick vodka bath and rinsed it out. When I blew it out, there was some dark liquid in it.
I primed it with some Red Bull e-juice and its fine again. No bad taste.
Lesson: If using an auto battery, keep it stored with the cart on the bottom OR disconnect it by unscrewing it half way. The alternative is to use manual batteries. The buttons can stick on them, but at least you know it way before it would get hot enough to burn you.
Cheers!
