My passthru is vibrating!

So I finally made the move to using a passthru when I'm at home, which is quite often since I work from home too. (Yeah, I know. The erudition displayed by this move is blowing you away!) Anywho, it's a DSE901 pass through with an adapter for 510 atomizers. It works great but every once in a while when I pick it up I can feel a kind of vibrating sensation, "tingly" is the best way to describe it but not in an electrical shock kind of way (i.e. the kind you get when you put a straight pin into an electrical socket; don't even ask me how I know what THAT feels like). It's not constant, it doesn't hurt, there's no extra heat and there's no degradation in performance. However it IS driving me nuts not knowing what it is. FYI, it is never hooked up directly to my computers (as a software developer who depends on them for my income I don't like any added risk, no matter how slight) but rather to an external USB hub that I have dedicated to this usage. So, any ideas on what's causing this? TIA, as always!

Sounds like it may be shorting out on you, a slight voltage will feel like a tingle as you describe. I would not use it again.

If you have no other options, try to insulate any metal from your skin. Plastic drip tip, electric tape.

Thanx for getting back so quickly. I just got it last week; I'll contact the vendor tomorrow and tell them I want a new one.

No problem, glad to help someone stay safe. Electrical current is very dangerous, I recall hearing something preached to me about 0.00x Amps being enough to kill.

Have you tried using a different source for power aside from the adapter or computer you have? Some ungrounded(2 prong plug) devices and an unbalanced load can do weird things.

I haven't tried it on any of my computers (won't risk it) but my USB hub is a nice, solid piece of equipment. I'm not too impressed with the connection where the wire goes in; looks like some sloppy work but I don't know what good work is supposed to look like (no basis for comparison). I'm going to have the vendor replace it and if I still have a problem then I'll know it's the hub and not the PT.

I purchased two passthrus a while back. On one of them, the threading was way to narrow and the cartos just slid right over the passthru threads without having to be screwed. I sent it back and got a replacement. When I plugged the replacement in, it rapidly heated up and within two seconds was so scary hot that I jerked it out of the power source. Even though the other passthru worked fine, I chucked them both in the garbage.
