My pet-peeve, even when I smoked. Littered Cig Butts...

You see it all the time. People tossing cigarette butts out the window of their car. Individuals that would never think of "littering". Respectful, law-abiding adults; LITTERING!

I live in Los Angeles, we have beaches, and when you go, what is one of the main things washed up on the beach? BUTTS. I have heard that cigarette butts make up more litter than any other litter - from people in the city tossing their cig butts out and then the .... washing into the drain system straight into the ocean.

Started thinking about it tonight and did some research. Guess what? TRUE FACT.

"Cigarette butts are the most common form of plastic litter on the beaches of the U.S. and world-wide. Toxic chemicals can leach out of the cigarette filters."

What happens after that .... gets casually flicked onto the street, nature trail, or beach? Typically wind and rain carry the cigarette into the water supply, where the toxic chemicals the cigarette filter was designed to trap leak out into aquatic ecosystems, threatening the quality of the water and many aquatic lifeforms. Cigarette butts may seem small, but with several trillion butts littered every year, the toxic chemicals add up!

I kept mine in my pocket. Not like I didnt stink already anyways. Its not hard to twist that little area between the cherry and the filter to have the hot stuff fall off and pocket it.

Dont' go there....I just started this thread to say how good it is that vaping doesn't have BUTTS!
