DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!
when people talk about their e-cigs, they mention them (sometimes, actually alot), by the model number e.g. DSE or whatever....it is confusing. i dont know what brand they are talking about.
i wish people would say KISSBOX, PURESMOKER, njoy instead..e.g. "i have the penstyle ecig by Puresmoker"
this is half the battle of trying to figure out what brand ecig everyone is mentioning, so i can look it up on the suppliers list, or google it.
am i the only one?
and also, Trog aint on the supplier list...is it under a different name? yes i will search the forum for a link....

heheh...I worked in a technical retail environment for 10 years. Model numbers are all I know:D The DSE901 is the "mini" that you got from Puresmoker. Some retailers list model numbers, some don't. Anyone feel like compiling a list of models with corresponding pictures/descriptions?

Trog isn't on the supplier list? I know he's listed as a "manufacturer" - perhaps that's why. I also think he sells via eBay rather than a dedicated site of his own. For me this means I have to enter "Trog" in the eBay search box and look for him from there. BTW - the first category that always comes up is "wargames & role-playing". For some strange reason - you don't find him there :p.

As for 901's and other generic numbers - I know exactly how you feel - I felt the same way when first on the forum! I was completely confused and frustrated by it but I now see the sense in it. The terms used by the forum take getting used to but it's the suppliers that cause the confusion; e.g., a 901 can be sold under different names by different suppliers but it's still the same e-cig.

Trog does everything himself, hes not really a full company yet, but he does have a forum for the SD. ECigScrewdriver - Powered by vBulletin

With out someone sitting down and writing a list of brands/IDnumbers/sellers its hard for a noober to totally understand.

There is 4 manufactures, hundreds of distributers, and dozens of sellers. They ALLL slap different names and sometimes different numbers and different packageing on all of them.

Basicly there are a couple kinds
The 901 which is a DSE-901, the id number from one maker, but it is also the RN-4075.
All are refered to as a 901 in general.
The 801 or "Pen Style is a DSE-801 and also a RN-4072 depending where it was made.
The " Super Minis" or Cigarette look alikes, there are basicly 5 models of those, then a bunch of copys that are cheaper made or "Health Brand" so its hard to give you all the numbers there, one is the RN-4081, but that is only one model.
The E-Pipe has at least 2 ID numbers as well, Ruyans and the DSE, not sure off top of my head those numbers, but they are both called Pipes.

The Kissboxes or Screwdriver are mentioned by their names because they are different then all the generics.

You see how it will take time to fully get used to the numbers, and it would be easier to just say a "PureSmoker" but even Steve gave cute names to his. All sellers do.

why is Kissbox different from the generics? to me its the same thing except has manual switch and USB adapter....and lot more expensive, but its still the same as most ecigs, aint it?
from what i have gathered, the Trog is a heavy duty battery power ecig, right?
will search more on the forum to try to learn.

Texas - you're right and you're wrong. KB parts are manufactured in China and it suffers from battery and atomiser problems. That is as far as the similarities go - and even then - my KB seems more reliable than a 901 and most of the other products reviewed here.

Other differences include; a better draw, hit and vapour from the KB but a more sensitive auto switch. I only use the manual switch - I much prefer it - but that's down to personal preferences. There is no comparison between the 'feel and look quality' of a KB compared to a 901. It's a bit like comparing a Rolls to a Cadillac :p.

To be honest - a poll was run on this forum a few weeks ago and it was neck and neck between the 901 and the KB.

trogs still uses standard generic 901 atomizers or pen style atomizers depending on the version. and he is using a bigger battery which is basically the same battery as the pipe since it is alot longer lasting then the batteries that are normally used for ecigs.

Minor correction here...

As I was recently reminded (rather strongly) by Trog - he DOES NOT currently offer a penstyle screwdriver. The adapter was a one-off.

You have to be considerate. People only use 10% of their brains. Imagine if we could use the other 65%. It would be awesome.

(I know that doesn't sound right, but 10 out of every 6 people have problems with numbers. At least 50% of the time.)

:D

How is anything in this thread inconsiderate?

Sorry if I came off that way...

Six, I know I can't answer on behalf of anyone here but I don't think Smoking was replying to your comment. At least it didn't read that way to me. I think he/she was just replying to Texas' OP with a rather corny joke - it did make me laugh though. :D

Texas, I've only been on here a week and what's even more annoying/frightening than not understanding what people were talking about a week ago, is not only knowing what they mean but also using the language in my everyday vocabulary... 8-o
