so, im an industrial electrical apprentice that just got hired on to a major project here in NL.

part of getting the job was I needed to do a bunch of physical tests as well as drugs and alcohol testing.

anyway, i had to do a series of exercises while hooked up to a heart rate monitor and my oxygen saturation levels were checked after each exercise.

now, as a smoker (former now) of a pack of 25s daily for some 17 years, whenever my saturation levels were checked, they were always 97-96 percent oxygen saturation.

ive been off the smokes over a year now and been vaping instead.i vape pretty heavily, just as i smoked cigarettes heavily before quitting. my oxygen was tested 4 times today post exercises, and my saturation level was expected to drop abit each exercise.it didn't. i had 100 percent saturation at the start, and at the end.

granted, this year i also lost 35 lbs and do moderate exercise pretty much daily the past 6 months.

regardless, the point of all this, even as a young teen ,(i started smoking young) , ive never had better then 98 percent.im 33 now, and its 100 percent?

vaping is as bad or worse then smoking. lol. i beg to differ.

thanks my dear!

to me, this pretty much confirms what i already thought. if vaping is harmful, it hasn't done much to me.im going through a 30 ml bottle and sometimes into number 2 in a week for well over a year now.

anecdotal, but take from this what you will.

I just love to hear stories like this! Congrats! My doctor has told me my lungs haven't been this good since I was 13-14 (when I started smoking)!

I was a smoker when I started seeing a general MD, who I see at least every three months. I've been paying attention to my 'vitals results' and O2 sat levels were in the mid/high 90's. Actually, it has been either 96 or 97. They are still the same, maybe because I'm not into my first vaping year yet? But in 65 minutes it'll be 5 days until that mark!

    congrats mate.
I recently started working in an aerosol factory making things like WD40 and as part of my phisical I had to have a lung function test. I was really suprised with my results. After being a heavy roll your own smoker for 16 years I quit 2 years ago. After my lung test I was told I had the lung function of a 22 year old. Pretty good I thought because I'm a 32 year old ex smoker.
