Ok boys and girls, gather 'round, this is how Uncle Jax rebuilds his Plume Veil rda with rayon. The best wicking material to come along since organic cotton!
I'd like to preface this by thanking JeremyR & dice (and whomever else was a part of the rayon wicking collaboration. my apologies for not knowing all of the innovators.) for their innovative and out-of-the-box thinking. Without their adventurism and imagination, this write-up would not be possible.
With that said, let's get to it.
Previous build - 6 wraps of 26g Kanthal around approximate 2mm diameter mandrel (home-made mandrel made of coat hanger)...
Pretty crappy build. Yeah, I know.
Nonetheless, let's begin. 5 wraps of 26g Kanthal around approximate 2mm mandrel with angled negative leg...
Mounted to the deck...
Excess leads snipped clean...
Would you just look at that fine craftsmanship on an authentic $115 Plume Veil? Come on Aether Tech!
Wicked with that newly discovered substance (thanks again JeremyR & dice!)...
Oops! Got a little ahead of myself with this image. I use a blunt tipped needle and gently caress the ends of each wick upwards prior to priming. Personally, I think that this is a very important step. Don't try to cram the wicks down into the wells until they are wet with juice. Learn from my mistakes dear children.
Apply the juice liberally as this wick is going to last you a long, long time.
Now, gently, gently, tuck the tails down onto the deck...
Another view of previous...
Reassmeble RDA...
And vape to your heart's content...
Hopefully I will remember to come back to this thread periodically to give feedback on this build and how long it lasts.
Once again, I cannot thank JeremyR & dice enough for their pioneerism in the wicking world of vaping.
t's the most important part of the build process, after all. For me, anyway.

Thanks for the laugh.
