I bought a zmax a few months ago and got stellar performance for the months that I had it. My friend wanted me to try the EVOD's he's been using because he thought they were ammmmmmazing. So I ordered a few and a 510 to ego adapter..here's where the problem starts. For the first week or so of using the adapter everything seemed fine. The next week the ohm meter would jump all over the place every time I fired. I changed coils, tried a regular protank still the same problem. I then realized it was shorting out because the stupid 510 adapter DESTROYED MY CENTER POST. I had great performance from this device and even though my MVP2 is on it's way, I do not want to trash this mod.

Does anyone know if it's possible to open up the zmax to replace or repair the center post?

If it matters, I have the zmax V2 MINI from MadVapes.

Could you please elaborate on "trashed"? Mine had an issue with the center pin being pushed down into the insulator. After prying it up a few times, I went ahead with the "o-ring fix" and haven't had an issue with it since.

The insulator on the center post is still there, but it's doing no effort to separate the post from the rest of the body. I managed to squeeze a little O-ring in there with some effort, but now the ohm meter is all over the place and sometimes will not fire because it thinks the resistance is too low.

I really don't wanna throw this mod away, so I'm up for any ideas at all including opening it up (which I cannot manage to do)

Sounds as though the center post is still intermittently shorting against the body.

Although the center post can usually be safely pulled out a good bit without damaging the unit, I don't know of any way to do that and insulate the center post before pushing it back into place...

Bumping for other possible fixes...
