Hey guys I just had to register to finally tell someone the good news. I bit the bullet and ordered a Provari mini last week!! I am very excited and hope that this device will finally keep me off the ciggies for good. I am guilty of being a long-time lurker first time poster! I thought it was high time I registered finally to share my story.
I discovered vaping back in February of last year, when I had a 5-10 cig a day habit. I bought a 510 kit (from Happy Vaper) after digging around a bit on these forums, thanks for all the info guys it was a bit of a minefield but I made my way through thanks to you! As you can imagine I soon became fed up with the leaky carts, constant re-filling and recharging (even though I had the personal charging case). It did provide the first glimpse of what it could be like to be smoke free. That first drag (actually, second drag after the first 'dratty' hit
) really opened my eyes and I felt that it can only get better than this. Fast forward a couple of weeks later and I had a Ego-T in my grubby hands, although not problem free itself, this device was much more low-maintenance and fiddly than dealing with the 510 and did me well for a while. I had bought some juices from nicfitnation (with the T) (Cheers Primo!) and found that I liked the Whistler's Peak menthol the best (12mg to start with). I vaped this pretty much constantly for a few months, and completely ditched the ciggies from that point on! I dipped into the Peach tobacco and normal 'plain' tobacco flavours every now and again, but always came back to the menthol. It just had that extra kick I needed.
After a few weeks using the same atty I had read that it was a good idea to clean it to keep it going strong. I dutifully followed some recommended methods (I ended up rinsing it with warm water and blowing water and then air with my mouth thru the atty, then leaving to dry overnight) and it seemed to work again after re-attaching the atty to the battery. I did the same thing a few more times but as time went on, slowly but surely the satisfaction I was getting with my ego waned. The first amazingly fresh second drag I took all those weeks/months ago on my 510 seemed but a distant memory. The juice I loved so much didn't taste the same any more. It kinda tasted muted and a little bit 'off' and slowly but surely (actually quite fast after a holiday to mexico
) I started smoking again, a little at first - then back up to my 5-10 cigs a day. I did try my 510 again to try to get the same flavour and feeling back that I got from my first few days vaping, but it wouldn't cut it anymore. I tried a new atty on my ego-t, but even that didn't taste the same as I remembered.
Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago, when I finally decided to give vaping another proper shot! I came straight back here to get the lay of the land again. A year in the ecig business is a very long time evidently! I started hunting threads to try to decide what the 'best' and latest PV available today was. I had a lavatube sat in my cart at vaporgeek for a few days, almost checking out a few times. In the end I decided I'd try some new atty's first before I jumped on a LT. I actually ended up getting some 'Stardusts' and some LR and SR boge cartos and a 5 pack of Kangers. I got some flavours in anticipation of mixing my own juice too, but that will be another story! The anticipation of my new accessories coming was too much so I caved, removed the lavatube from my cart and ordered a provari mini. The cartos arrived pretty promptly and I tried the Boge carto first, not having any drip tips I found that the damn cart spat hot juice in my pie-hole through the little hole in the silicone tip the first time I tried to puff on it! I think I over filled it though, anyway it felt odd putting the hot (warm) metal carto to my mouth with every puff. I soon unscrewed the boge and tried out the stardust. After a few minutes chugging with a tank of Whistlers Peak (The juice being about a year old now I guess) the flavour I remembered from my first ever vape came back (almost). There was (is) still something missing though, I have to take a very long 3-5 second chug to get some decent(ish) throat hit from the Ego but I am now taking it with me where-ever I go again, having the occasional ciggie, whilst pining for my new provari.
It is currently sitting in San Francisco sorting office on its way to Vancouver. Why on earth USPS drags a package all the way down to San Fran from Seattle, only to send it past Seattle again to Vancouver is utterly beyond me. Seattle is only 2-3 hours drive from Van!? Anyway, just sat here twiddling my thumbs, taking toots on my rejuvenated ego whilst CONSTANTLY refreshing the USPS website. Willing the package to move faster. I really hope that the provari turns out to be the missing piece in my vaping puzzle. Saying that it is probably a puzzle that is constantly changing with the times!
Ok, that's my story so far. Thanks to all of you for sharing yours with me!
Toot out!
