This is my first order with V4L. I bought three packs of preloaded cartos and several packs of blanks. I was very excited for these to show up. I popped the first preloaded carto on and started vaping. Within the first few drags it tastes like burnt plastic. I try another. Burnt plastic. Another. Burnt plastic. So far out of about 5 cartos that I have tried I have only found one that don't taste burnt up and disgusting.

I was very upset about this until I loaded one of the blanks with some of my own juice. Now those are great.

I do have a slight problem with almost 30 dollars of cartos tasting like tires though. Is this a common problem? I've even tried to add extra juice to a few of them and it did not help. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a way to fix it? I feel horrible about wasting that much money on these. I'm just glad that I decided to get a bunch of blanks or the order would be a complete fail.

Nuport was the first one that I noticed tasting extremely burnt up. I received a sample carto and I tried it first, naturally. It tasted like a burnt tire. I thought to myself that it was no big deal because it was a freebie and I tossed it but now that I am getting into the ones I have actually paid for I'm finding that all of them taste like burnt plastic.

I have used a lot of cartos... never have had one taste burnt to start... (I guess I have been lucky, but I have not tried the flavors you mentioned either) lol... I had burnt many in the in first few days of my own doing since I didn't know any better when I first started.

Sorry that you had bad luck with those.

Send customer service an email. They should be able to rectify the situation....and also they need to know if there is a potential bad batch of cartos.

Is this a common problem?

I've never burned one, but others say they have. Not sure I ever heard of an entire box being bad, though.

Two of the boxes I got were in the deals section. Menthol sampler #1 and 2. They still have the hard tops and all of that. I've tried about three of those and they start tasting burnt after a short period. I figured that with them being in the deals section that they have had more time to age and were more likely to fail. When I switched to the premium peppermint ice cream cartos I'd purchased, It had the same taste. It was a little lighter but it was still there. I've only tried one of those.

So, it wasn't necessarily a whole box but between the few I've tried from the menthol bargin boxes, the one peppermint ice cream one that I've tried, and the samples... my result is 5 burnt tasting, one tastes good.

Maybe my bad ratio is higher because I ordered the old menthol cartos? I don't know.

After doing the spin and adding a condom of my own peppermint liquid to the peppermint ice cream carto that tasted burnt earlier, it no longer tastes burnt. Maybe they are just a little dry?

Do you have any suggestions on flavors you have tried that don't have this issue? I like the idea of prefilled cartos and I really like V4L and the quality of the blanks but thirty dollars is a lot to spend on defective product that can't be returned.

Yikes... ok.. I have tried:

Wow Peppermint
Peppermint Ice Cream
Wow Vanilla
French Vanilla Ice Cream (not prefilled.. used a blank, I haven't seen prefilled in this)
Wow Mango
Watermelon
Sour Apple
Doc Pepper
Peach
Peach Cobbler
Pear
Pomengrante
Raspberry
Pina Colada
Wintergreen
Menthol
Smilin Special Menthol
Cowboy Menthol
Cool
Nuport Menthol

I am not saying I liked all of these flavors but I have never have one burnt to start... and out of the cartos I have used... I have one received 1 DOA. I have not used up all the cartos from each package listed above. The ones that I really didn't care for the flavor... I just listed today on the V4L Trade Thread.

That's possible. Just as a habit...I never take a long first draw from a pre-filled carto. The first couple draws are short with a few seconds in between to allow the wick a chance to.....well....start wicking. Might be why I have never burned one and others have....but that is just speculation. But if you feel the cartos are not what they should be...drop them that email.....

I had tried the Menthol sampler 1 a few weeks and none tasted burnt to me. I just wasn't all that found of the flavors.

Did you order any of those same juices from the sampler? Did you try to refill it like you did with the Peppermint Ice Cream? What type of battery are you using?

I have totally fixed one of the peppermint ones with more liquid. It's still vaping like a champ and the peppermint ice cream tastes awesome. I'll take your advice, maxx and start slowly the next time I pop in a new one. This is the kind of advice I was looking for as I've never used a prefilled carto until today.

I imagine that I shouldn't have to add juice to a prefilled to get it going right but if that's what I have to do, I'll get it done.

The peppermint juice that I used to revive the peppermint ice cream carto was actually from another company. I also have menthol juice but the whole draw of trying the menthol sampler for me was finding another menthol juice that I like. If I use my own menthol in them, it kind of defeats the purpose. If I have to do it I will but I'm hoping it don't come to that.

When I started trying these out this morning, I was using a regular VaporKing battery. When I stared having trouble with them, I tried it on an ego and a 510 battery with the same results.

I am still trying to find a menthol I really like.... I have yet to find one..

No....you shouldn't have to add anything to a prefilled. Least not by design, anyway...

These cartos are hand-filled from what I understand. Everyday cartos are going out around the world that were filled by people that were maybe new to the job. Maybe having a bad day and didn't put in enough. Maybe distracted by the fact their boyfriend/girlfriend didn't call last night. Whatever the reason, mistakes go out, just like any other industry. Then they may sit longer than they should and dry out some. If you can make your cartos work, that's great. If not....V4L knows about such mistakes and will do whatever they can to make it right as long as people are reasonable about it.

Maxx... I love your reasoning and oh so true!

Juantwizzle... send an e-mail to customer service... it can't hurt... see what they have to say.
