801's will be the coolest vape and least amount of flavor usually. Depnds to on voltage you are asking at? 3.7 is different from 5 or 6v with the same atty.

Usually 801 coolest-least flavor

510 warmest then the 901.

Cartomizers are closest I think to the 510.
Usually more flavor with 901 and 510 and cartomizers 808's than the 801s..
Not sure about 401s..

These are the most common attys.
Hope that helps..

Thanks for all the input guys! Now, for my all important ??? Which atty would you get if you don't want TOO much throat hit (but at least some ;)) but a alot of flavor? My decision seems to by swaying towards an 801 or 901...?

also, I really ideally would like a mod that can change from 3.7 to 5volts. I absolutely don't need any more than that! are there any that can do this? Mostly, I see 3.7 jumping to 6volts with the 5 in between... Thanks again!! :D

Better flavor, less throat hit than others (but definitely enough!) = cartomizers, in my opinion. (Then again I have no experience with 801s, only 510/901/cartos.)

The only one I know that can do both 3.7 and 5.0 is the Xhaler. (Yes, there's been some controversy about its ability to do 5.0v, but with 2 x 3.0v batteries and the cap tight I do get reduced vaping power compared to the 2 x 3.0v with cap loose. Good enough for me.) The new ones accommodate a 3.7v 17670 battery which has a ridiculously long life. It comes with 801 and 901 atomizer connectors and you can buy the cartomizer (or 510) adapter for extra.

The alternative is to get two units, like the Protege (3.7v) and the Puresmoker passthru (5.0v), or get one that does both 3.7v and 6.0v (Chuck, BB, and others).

I'll tell you this, I just blew a DSE 510 (L510) on my 5volt...lol One puff and it's gone. I hope Kase don't see my post. I'll never hear the end of it!

I will say my Joye 510's work fine on it but depending on the juice, it taste scorched. On the other hand, I been using my kr808 carts on the 5 volt mod and they are great!

Hmmm only one puff....may your atty rest in peace. I was worried about using my TW 510 attys (all OK for 5 weeks with standard batts) in a new 5V 510 passthrough - just ordered some high voltage 510 attys so I wouldn't kill my old standard ones.

Thanks for the headsup.

Maybe someone else can comment on this because my knowledge is limited, but there are high voltage atomizers that reduce (?) the voltage, so if you were using a 6 volt mod, the high voltage atomizers would be running at 4.x-5volt.

Another thing to consider is that mods running at 3.7 volts have more power than some stock batteries (510 for instance). Someone did some measurements and found that the stock 510 batteries were running at 3.1 volts. In my personal experience with the Chuck running at 3.7 volts, there is definitely a difference. The Chuck puts out more vapor cause it's running a little hotter. This translates into more flavour and more throat hit.

To get more flavour without the additional throat hit, lowering the nicotine content should do the trick. Since the mods run hotter and use more juice, it would make sense to lower the nicotine level a little.

I wasn't aware there were high voltage attys... Where do you get them?
