No need to remove it to file/sand.

Simply press the button down with the battery removed and file/sand the very point of the firing pin.

EDIT: I only suggest this because removing the firing pin would require more labor than is necessary to gain access.

Yep, and an emery board (the kind the ladies keep in their purses for their nails) is perfect for this application, and depending on your home, is easier to locate than a darn piece of sandpaper,lol. Super duper easy and takes no time at all to do. Did mine for the first time last night; made quite a difference. Check battery contacts, too for any oxidation; a quick buff with same emery board will clean that right off, too.
