Burnt flavor no matter what I do

Title says it all. No matter what coil, wick or juice I use I'm getting burnt flavor all the time.

26g kanthal
1.1 ohm on 1/16th bit
Cotton
Unflavored nic juice
Reo Grand with sub ohm kit
Sony 20 amp batteries

The picture doesn't do the coil any justice. It's only a few days old. Dry burn and it heats. Up perfectly inside out.

I've tried coils with 28g and 26g. .6 all the way up to 1.8. All cotton. Wrapped on 1/16th drill bit.

At that ohm the coil will get really hot.

Your wick needs more time to soak up the juice into the center of the coil.

Watch as you squonk. Look at the juice and make sure it covers the coil. Let the juice stay on the coil for a few seconds before releasing the bottle.

You have longer wick tails. They soak up juice too, but it is not getting up to the coil before you vape.

I had the same thing happen to me until I learned to squonk longer and let that juice really soak into the cotton inside the coil. I also found that wicks that are only sticking out a little work just as good.

It is all about the juice inside the coil!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm squonking and the crap out of this thing. Still burning. New cotton with short tails still burning fast. I can get about a 1 second vape before it burns

I was having the same issue after I installed my new contacts. Enlarging the airhole to increase airflow on my atomizer took care of it.

Just a thought. Your air hole is centered in front of the coil and facing away from you taking a hit?

What kind of atomizer is it? Looks like either a cyclone or the igo that Rob sells. I have a cyclone that I can't seem to get a consistently good vape from and it's set up exactly like you describe yours.

Take off the cap and drip a few drops on the coil. Let is sit a couple seconds. Then put the cap on and try it.

If the cotton wick is too tight it can't soak in juice. The wick needs to expand as it soaks.

First, see if dripping and soaking the coil helps.

Is the cotton real tight in the coil? If so, use less cotton so that it slides pretty easily into the coil. I'm using unflavored on a coil that is around 1.1 using .28 gauge and it is fine.

Coil looks high and close to the posts.

I'd recommend 28 or 29 ga to hit your resistance, moving the coil closer to the edge of the deck and lowering the coil so it's centered on the airhole for starters

I would agree with Russ on this one. The coil is definitely too high and too close to the posts. I think what you are experiencing is too much TH and mistaking that for burning.

What super x said and also the cotton. If it's super tied in there it won't soak up the liquid.

Sorry guys, it's the cyclone. I pulled it from the posts and lowered it. Seems to be working a little better. I'm scared of the coil touching the deck or the cap as I'm using the cyclone now a days.
