Hello all, I joined here many moons ago and quit smoking about a month later. I was off of analogs for a solid 2 years then fell off the wagon and went back to smoking for the last 14 months. Well I'm so disappointed in myself as is my wife. I decided to get back on that wagon and go. So I dug out my box of old vape gear and started going through it and found I have not a single complete working setup. I have an Itaste MVP 2.0 that seems to be working just fine and has held it's charge. I also have Puresmoker Legacy Mini with an a Kick but no batteries and a random eGo C-Twist, I think 900, which seems to have held it's charge also but I cant find the charger. I have a few random carto tanks, no cartos, a Vivi-Nova and Mini no coils an AGA-T2 with busted build and no supplies, and 2 iClear 16's & 2 Protanks IIs again no coils. So I've been cruising trying to get back up to speed on all the tech changes and trying to decide what to do to get started again. I guess I'll probably pick up an Aspire Nautilus for the MVP just to get back up and running for now. But I'm also trying to decide on some new mods. Well I'm headed to the local vape shop either tomorrow or Friday and am getting myself back on track.

Opps I guess I need to change my signature.

Good starting point and Best of luck.

You might want to catch up on latest FDA Deeming news so you can better prepare yourself. Things are not looking good for people seeking a Lower Health Risk solution.

First off, welcome back to ECF! You quit about the time I did so I actually recognize most of those. :) I went from ego to Spinner, then ProVari 2.5 and stayed there. Works for me but means I’m not the best informed to advise you now.

One thing you really need to do is bring yourself up to speed with the FDA deeming. We don’t have a rosy future and sooner you are prepared for it the better off you will be. You probably heard about it back then, now it’s a reality and worse than most imagined. Please join CASAA if you haven’t already. There’s more to do but that’s a good start as you find your way back.

The only thing I’m willing to recommend to you, because of my stunted knowledge, is to get mods that have replaceable batteries. We’re all in for a bumpy ride. :(

Hi

Don't "lose it" at the vape shop. In other words, so much has changed and there are so many new technologies that you can easily be sold something you have no good ideas about what you are getting into. Visit the shop and come back and ask questions if your eyes start glazing over when they explain stuff. (Or don't explain stuff - that happens a lot in vape shops too.)

Nautilus is a good basic thing to pick up right away that will work with your MVP while trying to figure out the lay of the land.

As far as what's in your box: Vivi Nova has come and gone - discontinued. You can still find a few places that have coils but they are getting to be scarce. Same with cartos - getting harder to locate places selling them as better BCC tanks like the Nautilus have largely pushed cartos aside in the market. If you didn't know Puresmoker got sued out of business. One of their mechanicals had an issue with the 510 dead shorting. Can't recall if the Legacy was one of those devices but you may want to check into that before setting it up again.

Your PT2 is still good if you liked the vape you got out of it. However it is getting harder to locate replacement coils for that one too. Kanger has come a long way since then in their product line. Basic thing: PT3 coils aren't physically compatible with your PT2.

Welcome back! The technology has changed at a dizzying rate, but unless the deeming regulations are stalled, availability will tighten up fast. Find something you like and get a lot of them. I have several Nautilus Minis and like them a lot. If you like Provaris, they are having ridiculous deals on the 2.5 and 2.5 mini right now; I believe ProVape is going to phase those out, but they are very well-made and should last a long time.

Well I decided to just go buy a new mod and be done with it. I'll deal with older stuff at a later date. I went to my local vape shop and picked up a Pico, couple batteries and a bottle of juice. Having a few new batteries I popped one in my eVic and that still works so that's good. I am officially back on track.
