I ordered my Blu on June 22 2010 and it finally showed up on July 2nd.
I think that is a bit long in the tooth for shipping but I did go ground.

ok a bit of a back ground on me, I use American spirit tobacco and tubes to create my own. I tend not to pack the tubes as tight as they should be and so mine are rather easy to draw on, and tend to smoke rather fast. I can NOT hardly handle commercial made smokes, they seem so tightly packed and so hard to drawn on I end up lighting one and kicking off the cherry to loosen it up, then relight it.

I had no idea how many I would smoke in a day...maybe a half pack to a full pack.

so I ordered 18mg nic on the carts...which in hind sight I think was too much

anyways..
I jumped right from my last analog to my blue and have stayed on it with no cravings for analog since starting.

the over all performance of the Blu has been good I think. I tend to use and recharge both batteries during the course of the day.
some flavors tend to work better than their other ones, Cherry tend to be a vapor and taste producer each and every time. The others I have found so far to be ...good on the first hit but you have to wait a bit to hit it again to get anything good.

the Blu has been preforming well for me, and I have no major complaints so far.

I really like the size and feel of it, it helps to get my mind tricked into thinking its real.
while I work on how often I vape and for how long.
as soon as I feel the Nic kick, I stop...and give it a rest..
and I am slowly getting away from feeling I the need to smoke the Blu like an analog.

I did order up a vapor king and some carts..because I like the idea of a longer lasting batt and simple to use carts and it seems that the cart and atty combos last as long as a atty and cart singles...

I am still not sure if I will keep the blu or send it back.
if its performance keeps up then I will keep it as a secondary unit.
I also don't know if the vapor king will be too much for me to handle since the blu seems to be just about right for vape and TH for me atm.
I can take a slight inhale on it and not choke or cough and get that feeling as if I had taken a hit on one of my old analogs.

I tried Blu also, and was unsatisfied with the battery life and the inconsistent vapor production. I sent it back within the 30 day period and got a refund.

I then ordered a Joye eGo from NicotineNirvana.com, along with some blank cartridges and AMERICAN e-liquid (not Chinese!). It's like night and day compare with Blue. The eGo kit comes with 2 batteries and 2 atomizers, and I can vape all day on a single battery charge. The vapor production is AWESOME!

If I were you, I'd return the Blu in time to get a refund. Make sure you use the RMA form off the Blu site.

I started with the Blu but have moved on to a bigger unit": Modern Vapor 902 and a Joy Ego. I still use my Blu for dipping or testing new juice. Not a bad unit just not a lot of kick to it. But it did get me started.
I see your just south of me, Stay cool its hot out there.

I got my 510 first and love it. The Blu came a few days later it looks cool but was not real impressed. Took apart a menthol cart and washed it real well and added some stuffing and another juice I had now it vapes nice! Will play with it for another week and see. May keep for flavors and new juices as well. Or may send it back not sure yet.

I ended up sending it back, I figured it would end up costing me more in the long run than any other e-cig out there because of the shorter life spans of the batts and the atty.

I have a KR808 since it does last longer and parts for them are plentiful. I won't be stuck with having to do deal with only one place. Also Blu is so slow on their shipping compared to other vendors here.

If I had to do this over, I would have started with something else besides the Blu just so I would not have to deal with the sending back and the whole refund thing

Just a suggestion. Don't send the Blu back simply because some here like to bash it. If you like it, keep it and enjoy. I love its look, although I don't own one. If you are bent on trying a 510, I have a rather large collection and would be happy to switch a set out for the Blu if anyone is interested. I've been on the forum and vaping for over a year and a half, and it always disturbs me when people come here specifically to bash a product. All e cigs have their strengths and weaknesses. Don't be fooled by the naysayers. I've tried nearly all of the models, and although I prefer the VaporKing, I know that others may not.

I'm not a naysayer, just someone who bought and used the Blue for 3 weeks. I just can't think of any advantages of the Blu, except maybe its appearance.

For the $59.95 you will be refunded (if you send it back with the RMA form within 30 days), you could get a dual eGo kit. That's what I did, and trust me, it's like night and day! The eGo battery lasts all day, and produces consistent strong vapor. With the Blu, I was soooo frustrated, constantly switching out the batteries and fidgeting with the tiny cartridge trying to produce 2 or 3 puffs of halfway decent vapor.

One good thing I can say about Blu: they DID honor the money back guarantee without question and without delay. They didn't even try to deduct the cartridges I used, so at least they are honorable folks.

I started with a 510 and got a Volcano shortly after. I still use both and like both. I now also have some Blu parts too, the batteries work about the same but I like the Volcano attys a little better. The first thing I do with a new Blu or Volcano is to mod the carts. I use blue foam cut a little wider and longer than the carts and fill with my own juice. A good juice that's PG/VG 70/30% really works well with these little PV. I think they have better flavor and it seems that they stretch out the juice a little too.

I use my Volcano atty on a NicoStick quite a bit. That way I get the great flavor and the long battery life.

I have had an EGO since last January. I love the battery life, but I don't like to use it in public. I have been vaping for over a year and a half, and I still prefer e cigs that resemble a real cig. Blu cigs are streamlined and very attractive to me. Sure, you have to switch out the batteries often simply because of their size, but I don't believe it is a crappy product: just a different kind of e cig. I have owned nearly every model in the months I have been vaping. I am unimpressed with the 510 even though I tried very hard to like it more. I have tons of 510 parts. My favorite is the VaporKing: decent battery life, new atomizer with every cartomizer: simple, like smoking. At home, I use the EGO with a cartomizer for battery life. Anywhere else I use my VK. I just buy more batteries and charge them all up. I still want a Blu, just don't want to spend anymore money.

No I sent mine back because of the batteries, they were taking less and less time to charge and lasting less and less.

I figured I would have to invest in more batteries before the end of the month.

I went with the KB801? (forget the numbers) from Vapor4life since it seems to be a pretty basic battery. I have a charger now for this type of battery now so...adding to my equipment won't be so brand singular like it would have been if I stayed with Blu.

I also was not sure how long the atty's would hold up either if the battery life was any indication of what I was getting my self into.

I think they are neat but, just not what I was hoping for.
I am really enjoying my V4L set up and know what I have invested so far should carry me for a few months before I have to think about new batteries.

I am sorry I did not see your note sooner sherid or I would have taken you up on that.

Guys, I have had my Blu for 2 months ~ ish / I have bought some spare batts and attys specifically so I can send back what breaks. They haven't given me any fits but I did have to send back 2 attys and a batt. They sent me replacements within a week. I watched the tracking close. It was almost exactly one week from their receipt to mine.

I read alot of folks with different models buying replacement attys and replacement batts, I have only bought spares.

As far as their carts.... they are good to learn on and see what works how. I now refill with MsTsbakery juices and man oh man.... vapor production and flavor just rock! Some flavors tend to produce more but everything she has, so far that I have tried, work flawlessly and the Blu wicks everything out of my modded carts. I used fluval polishing foam pads for filler and it works quite well. This way I have 25 carts to use and fill once every week and a half (formerly two packs of acoustics per day) to keep me vaping.

I haven't had a single paper cigarette since 25th of May. Man, do I feel great, so my take on it is if you like it great! If it performs but you are afraid of spending money on parts, buy spares not replacements. Their warranty really is top-notch.

I can't stress how important it is to have good liquids to work with. Find a vendor you can deal with and keep going.

With all the anti-Blu folks out there, you'd expect to find some in the classifieds, but every time I look.... nada.

If anyone finds themselves outside of the 30 day window and need to sell off their Blus.... message me. I have 8 co-workers vaping Blus just because they work. We would put them to work and not worry about it.

Most importantly, don't forget.... this isn't easy as smoking.... But at least it ain't roll your owns either. That was more work than cleaning and refilling could ever be. I did that for 10 yrs.

Thanks for your time.

Mark

Mark you are the r0x0r! I can't believe I finally found a strong Blu user. All I've seen anywhere is Blu h8. The Blu is a good concept but poorly engineered in some ways and requiring mods but like you say, it DOES require maintenance and effort to work properly. From that perspective I guess the argument could be made that Blu-bashers are really just whiners! :toast:

Elquin, thanks for the review. My daughter smokes American Spirits and she has a SmokeStik. She seems to like is as a back up but has not really switched over. My wife and I have a home for women in recovery and are introducing them to e-cigaretts to help with the smell and health issues. I think I might give blu a try. We'll see.
