mmorris-
:toast: arent you still grinning? Congrats! I thank you for sharing with us too.
You know, we forget the little inspirations. It was also somewhere around the first month or so-when my sense of smell returned.
Im laughing..I just returned from the hair stylist in past hour; I caught myself putting on a jacket as I went to leave, stopping and "sniffing" like a blood hound!; something very subtle, not quite sure, but AWESOME...because I could smell it!
At about the same time after quit smoking- I scrubbed the living daylights out of my digs. the walls, floors, closets, ceilings (were really gross- a light brown tar type gunk) was on absolutely everything. i've heard this from non smokers before. It was a real pleasure to rid my surroundings of it. Last week I was really on the verge of "getting high" in a rental car off of the "new car aroma"...LMAO!
enjoy, revel in the beauty, stop and actually smell the roses.

For all the noobs out here- this is something we dont give enough credence to. We're all too worried over slipping up, or other issues.
The SMELL is fantastic.
its getting better all the time (Lennon/McCartney)
Cheers

Cheers and a warm welcome! I loved getting my sense of smell back after dropping analogs, until I realized one of my co-workers kind of smells bad. Bittersweet, I suppose.

I thought it was pretty cool too until I got a big whiff of my dog's fresh poo. That stuck with me a while.

Yup, and
<---- this one farts ... and talk about silent but deadly  and then she looks at me just like in the pic ...

Sometimes ya just gotta be careful what you wish for

yea it's pretty cool when it kicks in, I remember standing outside and being able to smell everything, then got a whiff of perfume and saw the lady almost a block away and went WOW cool.

I know, it's terrible! We had a huge fire here, over 400sq mi, and went down to look at the current perimeter map in town. All we had smelled for 10+ days was burning forest. So, we were standing there waiting to get a glimpse of the map and I kept asking my husband, "What is that smell? It reeks." I'm looking all around and can't pin it down. The third time I asked he points at the landy standing in front of us. I felt pretty bad but she really, really stunk.

Haha, yeah - the world is a smelly place these days. Thank god for some good vape. I love walking in to the vape shop near by when it's filed with vapor, it's quite the opposite of dog's poo or my co-worker blatant disregard for soap.

Oh, my dog can likely out SBD your dog. If he can't, you have my deepest sympathy. Smelled bad before, now I just about keel over. There's a thread going on about what would drive you back to cigarettes and I'd like to say dog poo but they probably wouldn't understand.

Just wait until you catch a whiff of a smoker. I was in Hobbytown today and crossed path with a walking ashtray. You'll have bittersweet memory of all those years that was YOU!

I know! Remember how when you were going into a store or out of a movie theater and someone was smoking so you'ld kinda walk close by them to "get a wiff" of the smoke and it would smell sooo good? Tried that after I quit. Big mistake. Felt bad I'd become one of "those" ex-smokers but honestly, it smells terrible. Keep my mouth shut about it though.

OK Flamingo Tutu

admittedly, I announce atleast once a week that I promise NOT to become one of "THOSE" reformed non smokers.
You're absolutely right though! At first, I wanted a "wiff", joked that I Missed it!, albeit it isnt "gross" to me yet
it has become really noticeable. So how to find balance?
I truly am a live and let live pesona. I smoked for so long, I feel awful about any judgements.

I don't say anything at all and try to hide it. I was just truely stunned the first time it happened. I had a terrible time going from cigarettes to ecigs and honestly, it just shocked the daylights out of me that it smelled so bad. I'm not around anyone who smokes most of the time and I just never saw it coming. I know, my bad, and then you think, "ohmygodthat'swhatIsmelled like?!" At least now I'm prepared for it but the first time just floored me. Wish I could have seen my face. :)
