So last week a coworker came to work with her pure smoke from the local smoke shop. I was intrigued so I asked some questions and she let me hit it. Wow I thought can this really work? Still get my nicotine with less health risks. That day I went to the smoke shop to get mine. I got home plugged it in and was able to go a few hours without a cigg. I went online and came upon this site. I never knew this world existed. After some research I ordered a Tornado and received it last thursday. Now I never expected I could quit smoking it was my favorite thing to do, but my curiosity got the best of me and if nothing else I would have something I could smoke where I wasn't allowed to smoke. That's what I really wanted.
I had two full packs and a partial pack of ciggs when my device arrived. I did end up smoking my partial pack but gave the other two away. It has now been 4 days without a cigg. That is huge for me.
I actually wasn't even planning to quit, hopeing to cut down maybe and definately being able to take the edge of during times I can't smoke (movies, plane rides, car, you get it...).
I now find myself spreading the word of e-cigs to my smoking friends. It has been fairly easy to quit. I still get 2-3 pretty strong cravings but I just vape my brains out and it passes. I still go to break with my smoking friends and find myself dealing just fine. Mine tastes better anyway right?

I ordered extra juice and find myself looking foreward to that coming instead of thinking about when I can get my next cig. All of you have been invalueable to me kind of like a stop smoking support group. Thanks for everything my babies (4 and 8months ) would thank you too if they understood what a change for the better this is.

I have one question though... is anyone going to try to quit vaping or are you satified with doing this for the rest of your life?

Erin, great story, the best of luck to you and Welcome!
I had the highest hope it would work for me when I got my first ecig, but I do still have the cigarettes I left by the wayside. I kept throwing one at a time out of my purse case to make room for another battery, little juice bottle, etc., every time I look at those poor dried out little things it makes me smile!! I won! 100% ecig from day one.

Wow I can totally relate to your situation except that I have a KR808D-1 not a Tornado and I don't have kids :)

Been smoke free for only 2 weeks and yes even only 4 days is a huge difference !

Yes I will keep vaping until I die (probably) but what is going to change is that I lower my nicotine in my cartomizers until it's at 0 mg and I will make my own liquid since it's a little bit cheaper.

That's awesome! Congratulations! Might I ask what strength you're using? I'm still getting way more than 2-3 strong cravings per day and I'm on day 2. I smoked about a pack a day for maybe 18 years.

Congrats, Erin! I can relate to you, having a similar story. I too had no idea this world of vaping existed, until I stumbled upon an e-cigarette at a smoke shop. Came home, started to do some research, found this site....ordered my 510, and 4 days later I was happily vaping and 100% analog free. That is huge for me, a smoker for 24 years.

The day that I quit smoking...well, I hadn't exactly planned on fully ceasing, it just happened. I didn't know if vaping was really going to work for me. HA! Worked like a charm. It has occurred to me once or twice that someday I might want to quit vaping. I know now, from reading through the forums, that for some people it's pretty painless to reduce the nic levels in their e-liquid, so perhaps gradually reducing your nic intake might lead you towards quitting altogether.

I love vaping, but it's still a habit that I would like to be free of someday. SOMEDAY. Definitely not yet!

I was reading a thread yesterday (sorry, can't recall which one) where quitting vaping was discussed, and it was pointed out that it might be hard to poll those who have quit vaping, since many have simply dropped off the boards and no longer post. Makes sense to me.

Good luck to you, and someday your babies will thank you! I don't know about you, but my grandmother smoked, my mom smoked, and I smoked....I'll be damned if my kid smokes too. I'm breaking that damn cycle NOW.
