Hey all. So i finally got around to making a few things. The pictures have pics of the my first and second design for a map tank for the CE2 attys. the first design had the smaller and wrong diameter end caps. The bottom end cap covers up the threads on the riva, t-rex, and i would assume ego. That was one of my design constraints cause i hate seeing the threads.

Endcaps are delrin and the tube is 3/4" od, 1/8 wall acryllic.

These require pressing the attys into the bottom piece without any of the original tubing. The reason i went this route was because of my clearomizers failing (by cracking) at the base.

If you have any questions, ask. Otherwise, enjoy. sorry the pictures aren't amazing they were done with my phone.

I turned them on my lathe. To get such a clean cut on the tubes i used a hss partoff tool. The previous time i tried a carbide one, but it did not do well. if you look at the smaller of the tanks you might be able to see the chipping i was getting previously. (the first pic kind of shows it)

plugs were designed in solidworks, programmed in mastercam, and cut on my tl1

Looks good mang. I wish I had me a lathe, been wanting to make my own MAP tank for the fun of it (I have 2 from COV). I had the same peeve about the threads on my Ego when I had my MAP tank on it so I just got a cone and took the Dremel to it. A few bucks for the cone and about 10 minutes of my time and my thread problem was solved, it even works for my 5ml syringe mods. I would post pics but my camera sucks and can't do close-up's well.

I made my own tanks using a 5 ml syringe & also using a 3 ml syringe for the top ( holds drip tip nice) not real pretty but works great and no leaks !

I made some 5ml syringe mod tanks myself, I just want to make something like the MAP tank that looks real nice.

Here's my 5ml syringe mod

i started working on a genesis and i can't believe i didn't think to taper the bottom to approach the size of the ego battery. The taper looks so much more finished.

Here's some pics of what I did with the cone

Now I just need to find a way to get my mega drip tip to fit in the top of the syringe mod and act like the top cap of the MAP tank, that would look so much better.

Do you own a machining business or something? I googled tl1's & the prices I saw made me choke on my gatoraid.

I actually run the machine shop for the small company i work for. The TL1 is considered a cheaper toolroom lathe. trust me when i say they can get a whole lot more expensive. I also run a 4-axis mill. If i was building up my home shop i would really want a TL1 as my lathe of choice because tey are reasonably inexpensive and they are decent quality.

Very nice work!

If someone could make one of these using a 7ml blue glass bottle I'd buy it!!!
the color would mask the inside and the 7 ml blue glass bottle is about the same size as an ego.

MSRP for smallest Haas TL1 (16x30) is $24k, if that's what you call inexpensive then will you adopt me?
