My Tank Is Spitting At Me

Hey there everybody,

I have been vaping for a few weeks now after taking a hiatus for a while. (I had a vaporizer when they first came out and lost interest for a while) But I'm back into it now and I am seeming to have a problem with my Aspire Nautilus Mini tank.

First off I had better tell you my modest setup. I'm running a Smok Tech E-Max VW battery that goes from 3.2 volts to 4.8 Volts, and from 4 Watts to 12 Watts. I was vaping with an Ego style tank up until I bought my Nautilus.

I bought it and let the coil soak for the recommended time and then started using it right out of the gate. It was awesome. Then later on in the day, it seemed like it was spitting at me. I was really afraid at first, because whatever was hitting my tongue seemed to be hitting with some force. I thought maybe it was spitting solid things at me (I was understandably a little frightened.) When it did it again, I went straight to my bathroom to inspect my tongue to see if anything was on it. Seeing nothing, I figured I was getting some juice hitting my tongue.

Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone have an idea as to how to remedy it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!

Good advice from Auntie Mame above.

In addition, you can turn your voltage / power down a notch or two, use a longer drip tip or try changing out the coil to see if that helps.

Another poster had this exact issue earlier today. It's not that uncommon when vaping although I can see why you were worried. Some people even think they are getting shocked from their device when it happens.

I had the same issue, but for me it ended up just being condensation forming because of the way I was vaping - seemed like it was spitting juice, but it wasn't really, just juice-flavored condensate. Mostly that was because of how I was vaping - I just changed around my method, and stopped firing a second before I finished drawing to make sure the chambers all cleared up before the next draw.

Sounds like you are getting a wee bit of flooding. To fix a flooded atomizer take your tank off the battery and blow through the mouthpiece (with a paper towel under it). This will drain the extra eliquid.

When you inhale, take a long smooth draw vs a short sharp draw. This will prevent extra eliquid from being pulled into your coils and flooding it. Inhalation technique with an e-cigarette

Whenever you first sense that your atomizer is beginning to flood try this:
1. Open up the airflow so when you take a hit you are not pulling in as much juice into your coils.
2. Raise your voltage or wattage if your battery allows you to do this. This will vaporize more eliquid.
3. Tip your battery up (and take a few hits). By tipping it up you will prevent more eliquid from being fed into the coils.

Give one or all of these a try.:)
