My vape tastes muted

ok so I had a tight budget for a while so to coupe with the lack of a vape I bought cig alike here and there (I basically went 3 months without a real vape). Also recently all my vape gear must have gotten lost with trash and gotten thrown away so I lost it all. So today I started fresh since I had money to spend on vape stuff again so I bought a good starter (the ones they have you test on so you can really taste the flavors). But all the samples tasted muted. Then I bought one juice that did not taste as muted and when I tried it without the silicone cap to prevent spread of germs, I tasted it better but it was still muted, and this is still happening what do I do.

If you were a recent smoker, you probably have Vaper's Tongue. Years of smoking harms the taste buds and mutes flavors in food, drink, and vape. They'll heal once you quit smoking, but the time varies from one individual to the next.

When you vape, make sure that you exhale some of the vapor through your nose. Your sense of smell assists your sense of taste. You'll remember when you have a head cold, you can't taste your food as well as when you're not sick because you nose can't help out your tongue to taste.

Drink plenty of water. Pg and Vg in your e-liquid dries the mucous membranes and can cause mild dehydration. Dry mouth can mute flavors, too.

The quality of e-liquids vary greatly. Some just don't have a lot of good flavor.

The higher you go in the vaping ladder concerning juice delivery devices, the better the flavor will be. Clearomizers are at the bottom of the vape chain, cartomizers/cartotanks are intermediate, rebuildable tank and drip atomizers (RBA's) are at the top.
