My vaping experience after 6 days

Hey guys,

Just wanted to make a post about my short experience with vaping, so maybe I can help someone who is thinking of converting to the vape.

I have only been smoking for about 2 years, probably 5 - 10 analogs a day, sometimes more depending on social situations.

I ordered a joye ego starter kit (from greenhouseone.com), ego - t atomizer and carts, and a bunch of juice.

The juice I ordered was all 18mg, which seems to be an appropriate amount of nicotine for me.

No complaints with the joye ego unit itself. For me the battery can last upwards of a day and a half, and the vapor production (when everything else is working) is great. Everyone I have let try it said it was really harsh, but I think its perfect for me. I might head to the petstore soon and try the blue foam mod, as it seems to be very simple and effective.

When I first received my ego kit, I used the original carts and regular atomizers. This system seems to work pretty good. Besides the constant refilling, I seem to get decent vapor production and flavour. So far this is my go to method for vaping, I will explain why down below.

I thought I had done my research and from what I had heard the ego - t was the best thing since sliced bread. I couldn't of been any more wrong. My juices aren't very thick and they leak like crazy no matter what I do. A mouthful of nic juice is disgusting. At first the vapor production was awesome, and I thought it tasted pretty damn good as well, but at this point I think I've wasted a lot more juice than I have vaped using the ego - tank system.

I also accidentally received an ego wide atomizer. I am not sure if this is what everyone calls them, but that is how it is labeled on northervapor.ca. So I ordered some carts for this wide atomizer. I think I may have overfilled the first cartridge I used. I was getting almost no vapor production, even after about 5 minutes of use. I had also prepped the atomizer with a few drops of juice.

Does anyone know why the vapor production is so low? does overfilling the cart do this?

There is a much larger learning curve than I had originally thought on day one. I have spent about 150 dollars so far. I have 4 atomizers, a case, the unit itself, and about 80 ml worth of juice. I wish I would of stuck with the original carts and atomizers for now, until I fully understood my other choices.

I haven't had a smoke since Monday afternoon, so even with a few minor problems this vaping thing has been pretty great.

So I guess I just wanted to give a heads up to anyone out there, and I just wanted to see if anyone could solve my wide atomizer vapor production issue.

Sounds like you flooded the atty. Just blow through it into a napkin to clear it, then try vaping again.

I would have recomended some low resistance attys (for dripping at home) and cartomizers for your little ego. Those are just win win. I'm sure you already read about all the people that hate the tank system for its lack of performance.

Welcome to the forums. You are not the only one who's had problems with the eGo-T, which is why I no longer recommend them. I also did not like the carts you mentioned. It looks like your experience has not been completely negative and you see the potential. I encourage you not to give up. Stownz has given you some good advice. The low resist (2.0) cartomizers give pretty consistent vapor. Once I started using a drip tip on the cartomizer I pretty much eliminated all juice-in-the-mouth syndrome.

I just cleared out the wide atomizer. Seems to be producing a bit more vapor, but i have to drag on it longer to get like half the vapor of a regular sized cartridge, I just don't understand what the problem is, haha. Maybe if I keep vaping on it, and keep refilling it will eventually kick in.

the cartomizers looked interesting, but I read that they are only good for 3 - 5 refills then you start to get a chemical taste in your mouth. Also I'm still a little confused as to what the drip tip actually does. Off to do more research!

I won't give up anytime soon considering the money I have invested, haha.

They don't really start getting a chemical taste, but they eventually do get to where they don't work well. I generally keep 3 filled up and rotate them out. They usually last about a week before I start noticing a decrease in performance. As in all things ymmv.

The drip tip is an attachment that can be added to atties and/or cartomizers. If you use them with an atty you can drip 2-3 drops of liquid through the hole directly onto the atty, eliminating the need for cartos. I personally find this method rather messy, but others prefer it because you get the full flavor of your juices this way. I like using a drip tip on a cartomizer because they are easy to remove when adding juice to the carto. But most importantly I like using them because it puts my lips farther away from the filler which means I don't have to worry about sucking juice into my mouth.

I had the same leak problems with the tank system when I first got it, then I figured out where I was going wrong, and it hasn't leaked since.
I was running straight PG through it, too thin. It was designed for 70/30 mix, and I was drawwing WAY too hard with it, plus I use a lanyard and had it sitting on the lanyard with the battery side faxing down all the time.once I changed the juice, and my drag, and it now faces mouth piece side down I've been using it for two weeks and haven't had a leak since. That and I'm using something to fill the tanks through the hole in the bottom instead of taking the piece off every time. I prolactin go through 6-8 cartridges on the tank system in a day. Once I got the drag down pat, I was good, too hard and I would flood the atty, too soft and I wouldn't pull enough juice down and would start to taste burnt atty. Good luck, if you can get it working right it's the most wonderful thing I've run across in the month and 5 different PV's I've gone through. I have three different tank attys, and 15 or so tank cartridges, and since I've done all of those changes, its been wonderful.

I just figured it out juice usage wise, on average I go through one tank an hour, sometimes they only last 15 minutwpes, sometimes for longer then an hour, and as I said with that heavy workload, and three different ones no leaks.

Congrats on quitting. Stick with it, and expect to have bad "Vaping days!". I quit and starting Vaping in November and still have rough Vaping days where everything goes wrong. But way more pos then neg

I found this post interesting. I've been vaping for three weeks and am a solid week off of analogues. My PV (RN4081/safecig) is what appears to be looked upon as a old school, can't believe you bought that, are you serious, technology. I truly admire your resolve to see this through and I encourage you to stick with it but I wonder how many new folks are turned off by the overwhelming technology and myriad choices. What I use may not be the best but it's working for me for the moment. I read about leaking juice, overfilled carts, ohms, etc. and think, are you kidding me?? I picked up ecigs to possibly find a way to walk away from analogues and I think I may be on track. I watched a video about a "Povari" (sp?) and all I could thing about was it looked like smoking a high tech, confusing pipe. Please understand, I'm not being negative here and each to their own for sure but there seems to be an awful lot of focus on driving the Maserati's of vaping when some of us just want a reasonable physical and mental alternate to analogues.

You see those signatures saying :not had X amount of cigarettes" and saved" X amount of dollars" well you see you wont save that much money vaping. lol But the good news is your QUIT SMOKING and thats whats important.

Consider a selfjuicer mod....not cheaper but can be in the long run plus a lot less hassle.

Week 2 on my tank system using 80/20 juice. Yet to have a leak (no matter what the orientation of the unit, it's usually sitting tip up in my shirt pocket if not in my face! ), vape all the dang time and go through about 2.5 tanks a day (of course I'm dripping when at the house so that cut's the tank use down), and the only time I ever experienced a bad taste was when I used it right out of the box without cleaning the thing. I like my tank just fine.

Just ordered some ceramic cartos, but had no idea I could use my drip tip with them! Now I'm looking forward to trying them out that way! Thanks for the heads up!

I must be really lucky- I haven't had any problems at all with my ego-T. My only complaint is I seem to go through more juice. My juice is 30VG/70PG. When not using that, I like the Boge 2.0 ohm cartomizers. Holds tons of juice. I didn't have much luck with carts & attys. But that's just me.

You really need to experiment to see exactly what works for you.

If the big atomizer you've got is almost the same size as the eGo battery, I'm going to tell you how to get the best use out of it, but you'll have to buy a couple of items. Get a 5V PT and a 2 amp AC adapter, both available at madvapes and other vendors. That will really wake that big boy up. You can also use it with the standard attys and cartos, but not the LR ones.

I use 100% pg juice with my ego-t and it doesn't leak at all. I guess these things are hit and miss with quality. I keep it in my shirt pocket with the mouth piece facing up and still no problems. Only problem occurred is when i kept it in my pant pockets at work and was jumping in and out of cars shaking it all up, some slight leaking. Other then that i love the thing. I hope it gets better for you.

With the Mega cartridges and the Mega atty I found that the cart filler, as it comes from the factory, is pretty hit or miss. If you use thinner juices you will need a more dense filler to keep the liquid from just running out into the atty. I use Fluval aquarium filter media to solve the problem. I also remove the end cap and inner baffle from the mouthpiece to increase air flow through the atty. After you get the system fine tuned you can chain vape for about an hour between top offs. I have to water soak my atty over night at least every other day to keep it wide open.

I also found that I have to prime the atty/cart combination to get the wicking started after a switch over to clean equipment: Fill the cart to a moist condition on top and add one or two drops directly to the atty to start the flow. Works for me.

I personally use the "amount saved" figure in my sig to make sure I don't overspend on vaping. I figure if I don't spend over that amount then I'm coming out ahead. The huge number is what convinced me that I could actually afford to try out the REO, which I believe is probably the best investment I could have made (after my eGo starter kit). Now that I've passed the experimental stage I am actually saving money.

Actually, my banner is fairly close to accurate. Considering I was spending $12.00 a day for 2 packs of cigarettes, times the number of days since I quit (today 220).....thats $2640.00.

I have spent $1088.00 on vaping since last July. Thats an actual savings of.....$1552.00. So the banner is off a couple hundred bucks, but the gap is closing.

The strange thing is, I don't seem to have that extra money in the bank. Where is it? Maybe I spent it on paper towels, lol.

Welcome to ECF Forum. Kudos to you for hanging in there. Congratulations on your decision to drop tobacco and switch to a PV.

I have the ego-Tank system and use it while driving. So far, so good. I have not had any leakage. Someone mentioned that the T-Tank system seems to be hit or miss. Based on all the comments I've read about them, I agree with that statement.

Based on three people's experiences with the tank system: I personally did not like the 'smooth' draw, I'm more of a throat hit person. A friend quit the tank as it leaked alot (active on the job) and as for my 'extank' system, my son loves it and won't consider anything else. Two outta three ain't bad.
