Had some of this posted in another subforum but I figure I'd start a thread here to share the upcoming simple rba mods that aren't related to that subforum.

To start, my very first rba mod...

Phoenix v4 - Bottom feed & bottom air mod

Pressed the center post out with an arbor press.

Center drilled & drilled all the way through the center post for bottom feeding.

Drilled two holes on the center post adjacent to each other for the juice to flow out.
Img_8353_zpsd0789f87.jpg

Drilled two holes on the body for air, again adjecent to each other.
Img_8320_zps70fcffab.jpg

Cleaned up the groove.
Img_8332_zps479c9e2a.jpg

Made a juice well. The juice holes drilled on the center post lines up with this juice well.
Img_8333_zpsc1cbd98d.jpg

Using a mini slitting saw to cut two channels on the insulator for air draw.

The finished parts.

Dual coils @ 0.9Ω

Can't tell from the pic but I sealed the air hole with epoxy. Plan was to make a new cap for it without an air hole, maybe one day if I come back to this one.

Nice work Dark...curious, why go to bottom air instead of side air on a bf'r?...back when I was using A7's the first thing I did was drill the cap and stick an o ring in the well to seal.

To prevent any leakage at all when pocket carried. It was just an experiement that actually turned out ok. I have a bunch of these Phoenix v4s & Squids to play with. I also have an A7 that I modded slightly, still bottom air & works well for me. The bottom air ones haven't been used in a while & are just sitting in a box somewhere. Everything I use regularly is side air, much better flavor than bottom air.

SMOK RSST - 510 Leak Fix

Simple way to fix the leaking center post issue. I used the teflon tape method at first & it worked but I wanted to find a better way.

Machined .025" off the bottom of the center post insulator & installed a 2.5 x 1 mm oring under it. Problem solved. BTW the stock washer is plated steel so it can rust eventually. Replaced it with a SS316 M3 washer.

While it was apart I machined the center pin flat. Both of my RSSTs had sharp angled tips that appeared to be just cut with cutters.

I had planned on machining a juice well but since I stopped using full SS wicks I don't get nearly as much splatter in the chamber now. I currently use a SS wick covered with Ekowool. Maybe I'll revisit this one too.

IGO-L - Post Holes

Not much of a mod. Other than the lack of wire holes in the post, I'm pretty happy with this simple RBA. The entire thing is SS including the posts so these require more attention in drilling the posts.

Now with wire holes.

Micro coil with rolled cotton is awesome!

I'm not much of a fan of chrome or polished, depends on what it is. This RBA is one of of them.

Refinsihed it along with a refinished hourglass drip tip to match my Natural but now it makes the Natural look like crap & I need to refinish that now.

I love to do this with my protank, just that I don't have the tools.
