Well as you know last Sat we had a great time at the Suncoast vapor's meet in Brandon Florida (just outside Tampa).
My younger grandson came home with me and left today..that was fun! We went to see Despicable Me! Very cute..gotta love those minions..
YouTube - Despicable Me - International Trailer Click here to Make Your Own Minion

But then Mike got the results back for the tests he has been doing..with more to come. His feet are losing feeling and are cold all the time. It has become very painful and hard for him to walk. I was worried about his heart..but those tests so far say his heart is ok (for him).
The did sonagram (or whatever it was) on his whole body to check for blood flow (also ok for him) They did back scans to see if it's a pinched nerve, waiting for those results. He has a heart stress test to do and yet more back cat scans. He has several problems with his back including a syrinxes
(a void in the spinal canal).
I looked as much stuff up on line as I could and found out that a smoking and also in his case, a loss of part of his lower colon can cause a loss of B-12 with can cause Pernicious anemia..that has the same sympyons as he has..pins and needles, cold feet, numbe feet and pale skin. It's one more thing to ask the Dr.
Next week whe has 4 or 5 different appt.'s. at the V.A. as well as more tests by his regular Dr.
So if I am not on a lot..that's part of the reason. The other part is the older granson has a baseball tournament in Orlando/Kissimmee next week. He and a friend will be staying at my house for it. I hope I don't have to go to any but a night game..not that I don't love to watch him play, but it's too hot outside for me right now.
I had better stock up on groceries..I thought the 10 year old could eat! 2 teens at once will bankrupt me!

My thoughts are with Mike and you. I have back problems, which has cause major leg pain, and just got an Inversion Table {Ironman Gravity 4000 from Amazon} that seems to be helping me alot. If it is his back and ck with his Dr. to see if the inversion table may help him. I went through spinal decompression last yr and can't afford to do it again (my insurance didn't cover it) so I thought I would try this. Surgery is not an option for me, just cause I don't want it. Will keep ya'll in the Prayers!

Hope the Food holds out with those 2 Kiddos!

Luckily for me my grandson loves to cook! Well he likes to show off his cooking skills. So he will make breakfast for everyone, and a couple of dinners. All I will need to do is make desserts, side dishes and help with clean up ( I taught him to clean as he goes) I will draft his buddy into helping too. My daughter says he is very polite and helpful.
I need a morgage loan to help with the food bill!

Good idea M (yes I am so lazy that I will shorten even MXS!:p)

We were planning a hot dogs and hamburger nite anyway! Baked beans and chips..with baked apples for dessert.
Mike loves menus..he loves lists and he loves to go grocery shopping! He has even learned what bogo stands for.
So when he found out the boys were coming up he made a list of meals..I have already messed it up. The first day (today) was suposed to be spaghetti..but I had a roast that has been in the freezer for almost too long..so I popped it in the crock pot and it will be chili made with shreadded beef. Hamburgers for tues ..late game, enough time to cook and digest before the game) on and on until they win over 5to7 games (I think) or lose 3. this could take a while! Need to hit the video store tomorrow!

Sending best thoughts to you and Mike MK!! (((hug)))

Try this for the boys...

'Scottish' Mac and Cheese - (I'm calling it Scottish because it's cheap to make, the lads love it and it sticks to your ribs and fills you up!!)

Get some macaroni noodles, 2 or 3 packages of the shredded cheeses (you know, the ones with the 'ziplock' top on them?) and 2 cans of diced tomatoes. (We like the spicy variety!)

Boil up the macaroni, take out half of it. Use one of the bags of cheese on that half, then spread it into the bottom of a casserole dish. Get the tomatoes, drain off MOST of the liquid and spread that ontop of the macaroni.

Take the other half of the macaroni and mix it with ANOTHER bag of cheese and put that on the top. Finally, take the last bag of cheese, put THAT on the very top, sprinkle some parmesaen cheese on and pop the whole thing in the oven until the top is browned up.

It'll last you a GOOD long time and it's soooo good!! :)

That sounds good!
All this food and only 2 boys stayed here! One of them ate like a bird..can you believe that! Seems he lost 50 lbs. down from 200 football weight to 150 baseball weight..he's 6'3". I have leftovers from hell!

For different meals I made hamburgers and hot dogs, shreaded beef chili, mac and cheese with brown sugar ham, they had watermelon slices, bananacream pie, peach cobbler, cantalope and slices apples with carmel dip. That doesn't count Mikes sausage gravey and bisquits , eggs and ham and pancakes for breakfast's. Boy food~!:p

Well the good news is that they had fun, good games, visits here by the other team members to play games and watch movies and a trip to the Florida mall to look at th pretty tourist girlies. The bad news is they lost today in a double elemination game. I am now down to my grandson until the weekend when my daughter comes up to get him.
She gets to eat all the leftover chili!:D

My womens group had a rumage sale today..we called it Ropa Vieja Day. (ropa vieja means old clothes in Spanish..it's also a spanish dish I have given the recipe for on here) It was pretty much a flop.
We had 20 vendors and the Group had a whole room full of stuff to sell. The profits the group made go to an elementary school and to help send our girls little league team to the playoffs. One guy donated a bunch of backpacks for every child in the elementary. They are different then regular backpacks..they fit on a desk chair back and can be carried like a mail bag. We had a very slow trickle of people..even our "Great American Bake sale" didn't do well. The procedes from that go to that organization go to feed hungry kids.
But we did have a nice time visiting each other. I had a nice night with my grands.
