Why is it than when I'm sitting in front of my computer I get the best vaping experience?
I've been exhaling huge, billowing plumes of vapor that taste wonderful with sinfully, satisfying throat-hit!
I can drain a cart with my 510 gear in about 12 to 15 hits with a simple PTB cart mod and a LR atty. That's about one drop per hit.
...and I'm only exaggerating a very minuscule amount.

BUT whenever I'm out and about in the real world, (especially outside) I can't seem to reproduce the effect. Vapor is reduced by a lot. Especially when I want to impress somebody. What is this!
Sometimes I get throat-hit but very little vapor.
Can anybody else relate? Is it some sort of illusion?
I must be doing something different that I'm not aware of.

I'd guess that blowing your vape into a light source (your monitor) makes it look like there's a lot more vapour, but it's probably the same vapour as you'd blow elsewhere. It just looks more impressive and is more apparently visible.

As for outside, that's an easy one. Any breeze or wind will cause vapour to dissipate much more rapidly than it would indoors.

I'd already thought of these same reasons and you might be closer to (or even right-on) the truth, but I'm not yet convinced. I think dave8944 has got a more accdurate handle on it.

Thanks to both of you for helping me with this question

Maybe the distraction of doing something that requires both hands (like typing) causes you to wait longer between vapes. It seems like my PV's work better after a "rest".

Another thing I've noticed, is if you vape outside when it's foggy, you will produce tons of vapor. I think it's because the additional moisture in the air gives the PG/VG more moisture to absorb, kinda like what dave8944 said.

Hmmm.... If you live in LA, it may be colder and more humid inside (in front of the computer) this time of year... ? Voila! Mystery solved.

And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for those darned... wait, uhm... what?... Oh, never mind!

This is a dumb question, but are you using a PT at your computer?

Not a dumb question at all, Captain! You have probably nailed it. He must be vaping w/a 5 Volt, 2 Amp passthrough in his cold, foggy apartment!

Or maybe it's just the HV passthrough, if you want to get all "Occam's Razor-ish" about it. Either way.

Nope!
Not a dumb question and I had meant to clarify that point.
I use a 510 mega bat with a LR atty.

I've decided that relative humidity has a lot to do with it.
Smaller rooms tend to be more humid that larger spaces which includes outdoors here in what is for all practical purposes...a desert. Albeit an irrigated desert.

Here in SoCal we've had a non-winter this year. Our winter temperatures would pass for late spring or early fall in many other places in these United States. This is not a Gorebull Warming issue. It's not all that uncommon here. It's cyclical.

I love that ice cube idea! I'm gonna try it.
