I do find it interesting though that other large corporations and Industries and businesses etc get help when they are in financial struggles but the Postal Service, which SO MANY DEPEND on never gets any help. It's like everyone says...Oh Well, there's other delivery systems out there, who cares ?....It just don't seem right to me. I live in an area that federal express drivers won't even deliver to and you're lucky that UPS comes out here once in awhile to give you a package but usually returns them to sender saying it was UNdeliverable. (had one of those last week actually, the place I ordered oxygen cannulas for my husband contacted me because of it. they had to send it priority mail back to me)
I was going to say that we don't need the USPS earlier, but as I was typing it I realized that we do because of what you said about FedEx and UPS. The mail goes everywhere, not just where it's convenient. Even if you do have to drive to town to collect it at least you know you can. I'll go back to being a Pollyanna soon
that's like the 'need' for a computer. I lived my whole life without ever touching one up until a few short years ago. I swore I'd never get one either When my husband got sick and there were things that could "ONLY" be done 'ONLINE' such as applications and different things for his medications until his insurance kicked in etc. That's Total Crap in my opinion to be made to purchase a computer to have to do things anymore. Now so much of everything HAS to be done ONLINE it's as much a bunch of shet as the 'new and improved DIGITAL' television signal the government MADE you have to have 
what a bunch of freakin CRAP that is !! if it rains ya loose the freakin signal fer petes sakes ! Before they did that, I watched ALL the hurricane news coverage for me here WHILE it was being reported live thru my antenna. NOW however......as soon as the rains start falling it's TOO BAD SO SAD you're screwed cuz you can't see anything cept the werds...NO SIGNAL... just like the satillite dishes.
