Hello all,

I was an 18 year smoker up until one week ago.
A co-worker of my wife gave me a whole mess of e-cig stuff to try out. A flashlight mod that stopped working, a PCC kit with 3 batteries and a passthrough and one standard Atomizer.

It took a little getting used to, and after lurking in a few forums and checking out all the vendors I could find, I figured I had enough knowledge to take the plunge and buy a mod. The day the mod came was the last cigarette I smoked. I have just ordered my 2nd and 3rd sample pack of juice trying to find the ultimate flavor. Can't say I have found any that I can consider an every-day flavor, but with 10 more sample flavors on the way I am hoping to find one.

Here's where I hope to help out others...

The pieces and parts from my wife's co-worker worked (except the flashlight mod worked only for a few days) but were not "strong" enough for me to think of them replacing the analogs. The stick batteries would last about and hour or two if I was lucky, I don't think the PCC kit was charging them well enough. I flooded out the passthrough and don't know if I'll try it out again, I don't know how much juice dripped through into the battery.

I found a local shop not too far from where I live. (I hope it is OK to list vendors and suppliers, cuz I'm going to :p) Zikwid Lounge in Phoenix, AZ hooked me up with a low-res atty a drip tip and some juice. I didn't have the mod at the time, but if you visit, you can try before you buy their juices. There was a whole counter full of testers.

The low-res atty on the 3.7v roughstack v2 from MadVapes changed everything!
The volumes of vapor are much more realistic when compared to analogs.
The throat hit is better, but I noticed it does depend on the juice. Some of the darker liquids are too smooth and just don't seem to work for me. I thought I would be a vanilla fan, but that turned out to be the mildest hit of all I have tried. My wifes' co-worker gave her a bag full of samples last night for me to try out and so far the cherry-lime aid is hitting like a hammer and tastes just like they do from sonic! I WILL NOT TRY THE CRAB JUICE SAMPLE! It smells like an un-airconditioned seafood market in the middle of summer in AZ.

So, in closing, my advice to others that want to ditch analogs is to just buy a mod and get it over with! Don't forget to stock up on low-res attys! (I only bought one and am just praying it will last till the others get here) Never look back! It has only been a week, but I can say that the first few days are the worst and you will crave the analogs, but it will pass and you will be craving cherry lime aid instead...

Hope this helps anyone...

Wow, really cool that they have a shop with testers! I wish we had something like that here. Your wife's co-worker's batteries could just be on their last leg is why they aren't holding a charge.
The smaller batts are very convenient to have when you really need something small. When going to concerts, travelling and even commuting to work in the car, I really am glad I have the smaller ecigs to bring. My way to work puts me in the path of LOTS of police cruisers!! I know of people getting pulled over puffing on a mod. But, yeah, I'm looking at mods already too!

If you want a sharp-edged sweet cotton-candyish vanilla try Vapor4Life WOW Vanilla liquid

Another interesting vanilla is Gourmet Vapor vanillarum (a customer creation) - I get 10-20% VG for cartos

Also the PG/VG of the liquid usually determines how smooth it is - the more VG. the smoother and thicker it is. VG also dulls TH and flavor but adds more visible vapor.

Nice that you have something like Zikwid lounge. I agree the best thing I did was get a mod and get it over with. I have been off analogs now for 2 months and I still reach for a lighter in my pocket when im vaping LOL. It sounds like you are after a harsh more analog like vape. I was too and bought so much juice 90% which remains as giveaways to family and freinds who vape. I found my sweet spot with torque 56 on a dual coil carto.Keep in mind that you may disagree but for me I was after analog like vape and this is as close as I have come thus far. I also like bobas bounty from ave however it lacks the throat hit I crave. If any one has found something better than torque56 on a dual coil please let me know! I feel that although it is as close as I have come I still want more. That is not to say it is not satisfying because it is and it keeps me off analogs. It is just to say that after smoking for 10 years if something out there exists that can get me even a little closer then why not if not then I am still happy.

Most people new to vaping prefer an ecig that is close to an analog...I think it helps with the transition...but yes...Mods are more effective in getting that warm vape and big cloud of vapor:)
