N00B post - waiting in anticipation

Hi all,

A friend on another type of forum linked me here and I have been researching for about a week trying to figure this thing out. I am a 2 pack a day smoker for about 25 years, and have tried everything to stop. I am not here to stop so much as to make it less painful. I have a lot of breathing problems/smokers cough, and the world is pinching the analog smoker so hard that eventually you must find a way out. I hope this is it.

I did my research and settled on two options for equipment - A 501 njoy and the Janty stick. I have purchased both through two different vendors along with extra carts and juice. I didn't buy extra batt's or att's yet as I want to try them before I get over invested. I am pretty sure that I can do this based on the reviews and the research. I have quit in the past using various nic replacement devices but it pretty much sucked. I am so sick of the BS they put the analog smoker in right now, and with the breathing problems - I want to make this work.

So I am sitting here WAITING for my packages. To make matters worse, it seems that most of the vendors have some crap poor websites. I haven't received anything to tell me WHEN I will get anything. I am gonna be sucking dino smoke for at least another week it looks like.

I am excited about this. I know it may seem stupid, but the idea of being able to keep nicotined without constantly running outside, getting dirty looks, the damned taxes and regulation and etc. - this is the right idea at the right time.

I will post up whenever I get something started...

Welcome! I agree with your sentiments about smokers, etc. and looks like you've made some good choices. I was not looking to quit smoking but looks like I might have. I have a few more years smoking under my belt and a 1/2 to a pack more a day. It'll be two weeks Sunday since my last and had a few after I got the ecig a bit before that. If I really wanted a cigarette, I'd have one, but the urge is stopped if I vape first. Good luck.

I hear ya mousie. I was getting real tired of being relegated to my back porch and car for my smoking habits. And even at that I was always worried the neighbors could smell my smoke. One morning I was up early out back having a cig and the neighbors bedroom window shut with a loud bang (I know the smoke was going that way but wow, I can't even smoke outdoors on my own porch???).

Good news is my smokers cough is gone so I hope the vaping does the same for you as well. The janty stick looks nifty, I've been eyeballing it and a couple other 'upgrads' for a while.

I got my 510 last Friday and it's been a week today that I haven't touched a cigarette. I was smoking 2+ packs a day for a very long time as well and I still can't get over how well this device works.

Once you find your flavors you'll be a very happy camper...

2 very good choices, You'll be happy. Make sure you get a bottle of juice to keep em running smooth. I was a 20 year 2-3 pack a day guy with no intentions of quitting, but now I can't put one of those things in my mouth.

I think you're going to be happy. I was a 27 year smoker and after 2 weeks was totally off them. Soon as you try them both, although either will be good from what I've read. Get the extra atty's and batteries and JUICE! Lots and lots of juice. Best of Luck to you.

I love my stick. The V2's are out, and from what Janty is saying, they've fixed alot of the problems that were plaguing the v1's. Welcome to the forum, and welcome to vaping.

Wow, well thanks for the positive welcome! I will post up when I get to actually try it all out. The stick I got is the pre-order v2 so we shall see, the 510 is a 510, let us hope it is as good as the Datsun version. I am happy to have only one person down on the post and only about the 510 equipment. Seems to be a pretty hospitable forum here.

Thanks for the insights. I shared this new concept with my wife today also and she checked out a couple videos/reviews. She is pretty pleased with the idea I had been keeping my research close at hand for the last couple weeks.

I changed the post. When the OP mentioned NJoy I was thinking PeeWee not 510. I'm beginning to think when someone posts "501" they must actually mean "510".

I got home from trip and had all this stuff waiting for me:

Joye 510 kit, wife charged both batteries for me
A bunch of juice and cartridges for it

Surprise....Janty stick arrived today also.

Not bad for a first time startup.

I hit the 510 and it smelled kind of bad, like chemicals. Not much vapor. I think it needed some burning in. After a bit, it was hitting pretty good. I could use this as a cigarette substitute.

I hooked up the stick. Its instructions don't give you any fancy battery charging info. I put the battery in and hooked it up and NOTHING

I was starting to get upset and I hooked it into a phone charger USB that was sitting there, and WOW, this thing just out and rocks. I coughed. So, when you get your new Janty v. 2 charge up the batteries before you try burning it in.

The results:

510: It's marginally OK. It works well enough to keep me busy.

The stick: OMG this thing is more smoke than more smoke could be.

I am a newb and these are my first time experiences.

I would have smoked 20 or so analogs tonight. I have smoked most of one, at first trying to understand the craving, and then trying to understandy why. My pack of smokes is sitting there doing nothing.

I am pretty pleased. I am curious why the throat/lung hit is so hard if this is only water, etc. I am not quite figured on that. I cough over anything, but hittng these, esp. the stick hard will make you gack.

I have saved about 15 cigarettes in the last 5 hours and I don't care for an analog.
