n00b Questions about the 510-T --- cartomizers, atomizers, mods, etc.

Hey everyone, I recently purchased my first REAL e-cig from thevaporpro, the 510-T, and I have been loving it.

I do, however, have a few questions for ya'll experts...

1. I have been eyeing the cartomizers on sweet-vapes; I believe they are dual coil? Apparently it is supposed to make for better/vapor taste? First of all, will these be compatible with my 510-T w/ standard automatic battery? If so, is it worth the purchase/ would I be better buying dual coil carts from somewhere else?

2. What are the advantages to buying cartomizers for the 510-T vs. atomizers + cartridges?

3. Does anyone have any suggestions for certain accessories or mods for the 510-T that noticeably improve the vaping experience?

Thanks! I appreciate any help.

I might be wrong, but I don't think you could successfully run a dual coil cartomiser on a 510. It's two 1.5ohm coils running to 3ohm between them so either you wont have the voltage for a decent vape out of the 510 or it'll really drain the battery so fast it'll damage it.

Cartomisers are like the 510T you have now except there's filler you put the liquid in. If the 510T works for you then the cartomisers are just sort of the same thing, just done in a different way if you get what I mean at all lol. Cartomisers are disposable but if you're good to them and they're good ones they can last a few weeks but the 510T *should* be lasting longer.

Well, if you get into vaping as a long term solution and you like the 510 threaded stuff, you should conisder picking up an ego or riva battery and charger. Wont cost you much more than a 510 battery but they're going to last you so much longer it'll blow the 510 batteries out of the water. The only real difference is, they're fatter batteries. I think 510 batteries are 180 - 250mAh depending on size but I haven't checked to see, so I could be wrong. Ego batteries start from 650mAh and you should see much more use out of them.

Mh, so I guess I'm saying you should upgrade your batteries before you consider ungrading the gear you put on them. You don't have to, it's just they can take the load of "better" stuff.

Slim ecigs cannot use low resistance atomizers and cartomizers. LR can damage the batteries of slim ecigs.

With a 510 you might be able to get away with using the 2.5ohm version of the dual coils. Do not go any lower than that on slim batteries. Most people use the 2.8-3.2 ohm Boge 510 cartos on slim 510.

Certainly not the 1.5ohm. Some people won't even use 1.5ohm on the fat battery 510 models Ego and Riva 510 and will only go that low on mods with removable industrial type batteries.

And BTW if you have auto batteries, be extremely careful that a carto is not going to drip before putting it on your battery. Auto batteries are totally dependent on a little drag sensor right inside the hole in the middle of the threaded end of the battery and that is exactly where a carto will leak if it does.

Advantage of cartomizers - they hold twice as much juice as the 510-T tanks (but you will need to add juice as often because if you vape a carto dry you can singe the stuffing and ruin the flavor. There is no atomizer to keep clean. You can keep your favorite flavors totally separate in cartomizers. Downside is they have limited lives of 4-14 days. I use thin (20% or less VG) light clear juices to get longer good performance out of my cartos. Another downside - hard to impossible to clean and dry to get more life out of them - some people manage to do it. For that reason I never put an untested juice in a carto. Only juices I love get cartos.

I don't know any mods for tanks. If you have manual batteries, you could test juices with a standard resistance non-tank 510 atomizer and a 510 drip tip (or Joye 306 standard resistance atomizer and 306 drip tip).

I have a similar questions, "N003 as well and I have a 510 t, one auto, one manual. I've noticed a "low resistance" atomizer *made* for the 510 on wordupecig.com... is this a bad idea because of your comments about low resistance?

If so, why is it made for the 510 T?

I don't have much interest in battery life since I don't smoke a lot, but, I would like to try other types of atomizers without buying too much new stuff. I have the XL skinny batteries for the 510 T, should I take this post to mean there isn't much I can do without buying a whole new e-gig from scratch?
