Naked Cylon.

Well, I'm still liking my Smoant Cylon, but this morning the leather wrapping started to peel off.
After I peeled off the adhesive underneath it, I think it still looks pretty good.
What do you guys think

It does look nice like that. If you do ever want to replace it, there are apparently other stickers you can get. Not sure if they're Smoant replacements or third party like J Wrap. It might be in the Cylon thread about that.

Hmmm. Bit of a concern, I hope peeling 'leather' isn't going to become another Cylon defect, along with failing screens (the instances of which seem more prominent than I'd like). The paint work on the Battlestars didn't hold up too well either. Bonus is that at least, for now, Smoant CS seems pretty good at replacing failed units. I'd rather they didn't have to though.

I'm sure other mods have their issues and there'll always be wear and tear to consider. I really like Smoant gear, for now, hopefully I don't have to end up revising that opinion!

How long did you have it before the leather came unglued? Could you have reglued the leather or was it in bad shape?
I have a Cylon but I don’t use it as an all day mod but it is in my rotation.

My thought getting it was that I could replace the leatherette with real leather and contact cement. But the screen didn't last long enough before showing where it was heading to mess with.
I don't hold the screen against Smoant, but I don't have much faith in that type of large color screen now.

It's been my all day every day for about three months now.
While I've tried to be careful, with it, I haven't exactly babied it either. It rides around in my pocket all day, and it frequently gets exposed to the hazards of a factory environment.
I could have re-glued it, but once I saw the paint underneath it, I figured "Why bother" it looks pretty good without it, and really, how many other naked Cylons do you see?
The screen seems to be holding up well so far

You can also cut out pieces of skateboard grip tape to fit it.

I've got the black version and I agree it does look good, but I would miss that sort of spongey rubberized feel, to be honest. I'd be more inclined to rewrap it, unless it just continued to feel great anyway. I don't have an all day vape setup but mine has held up pretty well and the Ares on top, given I've dropped them catastrophically every now and then.

I mean, it sucks to be me at the moment. If I don't carry EVERYTHIGN with me around, I lose stuff (have no idea where my old lady glasses are at the moment for example) but if I try to carry TOO MUCH, well, that sucks too.

There must be a solution to this dilemma other than a fanny pack but I'm not going to carry my PURSE all over the house, either.

Although, since it's an in house problem maybe I COULD get a fanny pack. LOL.

I find this to be true on many levels, a little mystery is required to pique interest imo.
