I'm basically not Manufacturer loyal. I pick and choose those that have gotten good reviews and have been through the test of time.
SmokTech- love their batts, cartos and hate their Vivi Novas.
Vision also a Love/ Hate thing.
I NEVER buy Version 1 of anything vape related as they're usually overpriced and have flaws/ issues and thus Versions 2, 3, etc. Lately have been impressed with the Mods being made by Innokin.
As far as Vendors go even my favorite Vendor sell clones/ knockoffs as well as the genuine gear. Regardless of the popularity or high rating of any Vendor we should always research before we buy. It's a business and most Vendors are attempting to appeal to the budget minded as well as the quality minded= greater market share.

In the affordable stuff, i really like Innokin aka iTaste. Their MVP is a great value and works great. Their iClear30 clearomizer ($13ish or included in the MVP kit) and possibly the new iClear30S are good performers and easy to fill and clean. It comes completely apart if you wish. Their coils last a long time too for me but they cost more than a Kanger coil. They are roughly $3 each or a little less.

I also like the Kanger T3S clearomizer (not the T3). Its cheap (roughly $6) and IMO works better than the Pro Tanks. Plus it hold as much or more juice. Keep it no less than 1/4 full and it should not give you any problems other than cleaning the condensation in the drip tip. Kanger Evods also get good reviews in general but i have not used one yet. The BEST thing about Kangers is the price of coils. Its not hard to find 5 packs for about $6 online.

Affordable glass clearomizers, the Kanger Pro Tank II or Mini Pro Tank-II are loved by many and hated by many. They are usually under $18. Your results may vary. I really liked mine at first but now i very rarely use them. They can be completely taken apart and you can buy most of the replacement parts.

Affordable cartomizer tank SMOK DCT Pyrex. Its about $10 or less for just the tank. The glass tank is mostly covered with a metal cover but not too much that its hard to see your juice. Its only flaw is it does NOT come apart. The end caps are permanently attached.

Still somewhat affordable cartomizer tank. IBTanked aka OCD are under $30 with shipping and it can be taken completely apart. The quality is as good as many more expensive tanks and you can buy any replacement part. The glass is super thick and you can even get stainless end caps or a variety of anodized aluminum for a little less.

As Baditude "thumbed down" :D Avoid polycarbonate carto tanks if possible. Use glass or at least a polypropylene carto tank if you can find one. Glass taste better to me. They are basically immune to juice that would damage a polycarbonate tank.

You really only have 3 options for the cartomizers that go in the cartomizer tanks. Some can be used "solo" like the SMOK Mega 4XL. You only fill the plain cartos and screw it on your device. The jumbo sizes hold as much as some tanks and are a great way to see if you like a carto. IMO once you try one that is properly filled, you will experience a new level of flavor.

I also like the Ikenvapes cartomizers compared to SMOK cartomizers but im still pretty new at using them. SMOK cartomizer quality control is a roller coaster and it a bit different than using a clearomizer. Once you learn the basics, you will find what works the best for you. Some of the SMOK cartos work just fine for me. Others are just terrible.

Boge can also make a good cartomizer and they are usually cheaper than SMOKs but it seems they had their own QC control issues. Ive yet to try a Boge carto except at a B&M's sample bar. They seemed really good to me at the sample bar.

Sticking with the brand names like Batitude and others mentioned will give you a better vaping experience and better quality control. Knockoffs may come from the same factory in China but IMO its more hit and miss. I prefer more home runs than being stranded on base.
