I'm getting a couple of nasty tastes occassionally. First, I'm just using cartos. I'm rotating a few different flavors [on different cartos]. Everything is ok, except for my 2 capuccino. ATM, 1 is giving me a really nasty chemical taste, the other is a realy bad burned taste. I let them both sit a few minutes, and it is fine again. Neither are old, maybe filled 2-3 times each. Is it bad cartos? or my tastebuds still trying to kick start. I haven't had this before, and its odd, since in the last few days, the capuccino has tasted better and better.

When a carto goes bad, does it taste burned? chemically?
When a carto goes bad, does the bad taste stay bad, or does it come and go?

If the bad taste is a carto going bad, can I remove the filling and give it a second life for dripping, or will I still get the nasty taste sometimes?

Are the Cartos getting hot? That could indicate that you need to back off the length (time) of your draw. If you like to direct inhale and take long pulls, you can burn the filler material. Also, Cartos only last so long before they get all gunked up and start tasting like burnt socks. I throw mine out at this point but some people clean them. Lastly, make sure you keep them moist and refill as needed. If they dry out, they will burn.

Thanks,
I refill at least when I switch batteries, sometimes more. The only time they could have dried up is the first use. The cappucino flavor is my evening vape, at my desk. I bought 30ml @12mg, so I could chain vape..... heat up, oh yeah. When it gets warm, I back off for a few moments. But now it makes sense, I really like this flavor in the evening, and I think I may be overheating them.

What's the best option for chain vaping?
I will probably place an order for new HW, oh, I don't know, maybe October 30th :D. Planning on a manual 78 and x2 650, x2 clearos, and CE3. Will the 2x Clearo or CE3 be better for chain vaping (take more puffs before heating up)?

Can you get an 808 threaded Vivi Nova? I recently got one for some eGo's (510 threaded) and it does work really nice. Easy to clean and maintain.

For the burned taste, 99.9% of the time the filler got burned. usually by letting a carto go dry, or it can't keep up with wicking due to too long and frequent drags. For SI's cartos, I would refill them well before a battery runs out. Personally, I think a carto will also last longest if you drip a few drops in every 20 drags or so. I suspect that the chemical and burned tastes are from you not refilling often enough.

X2 clearos, CE3's, and the nano are often better for longer vaping sessions than a carto. If you haven't tried those yet, you should really give them a try. They work great for longer vape sessions.

I use several e cigs at a time because the first few draws are the best. With the tank system I just draw several times without using the button to heat it up. You can actually see a bubble or two indicting the e juice has gone into the cartomizer. One post mention the density of the fill at the points of contact can sometimes just be too much. A defect. To bad all this stuff comes from china to keep it affordable. I would pay more if it didn't take so much finesse and fiddle, and even that doesn't always work. In the long run I have been spending more than what I figured this would cost but I won't give up tank vaping because I lie to see the liquid. And I like glass/Pyrex. If ANYBODY can recommend a store that carries reliable replacement cartomizers POST! I saw a store that offers a testing before shipping service. So sorry I forget who too! $1.00 or less. This s a big problem IMO

I was exclusively a carto user until just a couple months ago. I had tried a few different products, then found SI when I was searching for new batteries. I bought my first 2 X2 clearomizers around 3 weeks ago, and both are still going strong. When I first ordered them, I thought they were a little pricey for disposables, but they are lasting way longer than I expected them to. I prefer them over the CE-3s on my X2 batteries, but that's just me.
