Pretty sure I read someone say to only use NF's extracts for DIY and not the concentrates. I did some searhing but didn't find much, so am looking for info.

I read people say to let the alcohol evaporate when steeping. Also read that the alcohol gives a throat hit for a few days when the extract is new and it hasn't evaporated. Only the extracts have alcohol. The concentrates use Gum Acacia sap instead, which means these people are talking about extracts.

Reasons I'm asking is because NF says the concentrates hold flavor better for high heat applications and should overall be stronger, thus using up less.

So why shouldn't we use the concentrates instead, or should we? Prices are about the same too.
Thanks.

I think I read that high desert vapes caries the extracts. But I know that for a good while people said the coffee/tea flavorings around here. Combined with the fact that they have added a no Diacetyl version of several of the coffee/tea flavors I am guessing that is what NF thinks people are using. On the other hand I noticed that those have sugar so now I am totally confused about what to use if your thinking about using organic flavorings.

None of the flavors I looked at have sugar or Diacety in the ingredients. I'm getting organics for a couple dollars more, but don't think the non-organics have them either.

Unless they gunk up the coil too much, it sounds like the concentrates would be the best since they're noted to maintain good flavor with high heat.

I might try some from each category (flavor for tea/coffee, concentrates, and extracts), and some duplicate flavors to compare.

NF has diacetyl in them, hence the "diacetyl free" line. Diacetyl is typically not listed under the ingredients of liquids that contain that substance ... Problem is most of the diacetyl free line contains sugar which is not good in PVs since it burns. So you're choice comes out to be getting the flavors that contain Diacetyl or getting the flavors with sugar in them.

Don't get me wrong, I tried NF liquids and they were very good, but be careful what you are vaping

You definitely don't want to use the gum base. It's an opaque color and very strong. Excellent for baked goods and such though. The coffee and tea line works well. The flavors in the coffee/tea section are still much stronger than typical extracts. The most NF coffee/tea flavoring I use is 22%. That would tend to put it in the same neighborhood strength wise, to what people are using with other popular flavor types.

Flavorings for coffee & tea are the go-to; they are alcohol base, high heat stable, and known to work.

The concentrates are iffy - many have a gum base, but some are alcohol-only. I expect those will work but haven't tried yet. I am waiting on a cucumber-melon concentrate & will post about it whenever it gets here.

Most or all of the extracts are alcohol base so will technically work, though idk how the heat would affect them.

There are a lot of flavors that are only available as concentrate/extract & not as coffee/tea flavor, so I am curious to answer this question for practical reasons.

^ wrong according to the person at NF I spoke to on the phone today. They said only the flavors that are an immitation butter/cream/milk type might have Diacetyl (basically immitation butter). She said all of the non-cream type flavors in 'flavors for tea/coffee' don't have Diacetyl or added sugar. The ones that do have Diacetyl have a Diacetyl-free version which have some sort of sugar.
You can refine a search with the toolbar on the left that says 'has added sugar'. In alphabetical order search results, the Diacetyl-free version (has sugar) will be next to the one that does have Diacetyl.

If you dry burn about every 3ml like me, I don't think organic evaporated cane juice or whatever the 'sugar' is will cause a problem, though I'm not looking at any sugar flavors.
I like some juices sweet, but I use VG base which is already sweet, so no need for me to add some synthetic sweatener like ethyl maltol.

She said to use 'flavors for coffee/tea' for e-juice without me even asking and somehow knew I was calling about e juice just by my innitial question if the flavor extracts/concentrates contained Diacetyl even if not listed in the ingredients.

I can do without cream flavors. Diacetyl can be Googled with all types of health concerns related. Plus I'm trying to avoid as many things as possible that are probably linked to animal testing like Diacetyl.

There are some unique flavors available only as flavor extracts/concentrates, I might try them also if they don't have things like Diacetyl or Gum Acacia that I want to avoid.
I'm probably spending the $30 for 2oz of organic Jasmine tea/coffee flavor. I'll try to post reviews.
