I just got my the nautilus Mini today to pair with my istick. I was pretty excited to start using it, so I think I may have set it up hastily. I was using the EVOD single coil before at 1.8ohms. It was working nicely but not enough flavor and I was seeking a lot more vapour.
After setting up the N-Mini, I poured in the same liquid I have been vaping everyday for the last month, a vanilla/cookie flavor at 70/30 12mg nic.
Taking a few puffs I noticed no difference in amount of vapor or flavor, however what I did notice was one hell of a head rush from the nicotine.

What am I doing wrong and how can I improve the flavor and vapour from the N-Mini?

Hi, cirrusminor, and welcome to ECF!

Generally, the more VG in the mix, the more vapor, so to get more vapor, you can get juice with more VG in the mix.

However, VG doesn't carry flavor as well as PG. to counteract losing a bit of flavor when you go to a higher VG mix, you can (if your vendor has this option) order the juice with an extra flavor shot or two.

Another thing that affects flavor and vapor is the power you are supplying to the coil and the coil you are using.

First the power.
Start with a lower setting on your iStick and take a draw.
Then increase the voltage (or wattage if you are on tha setting) and take another draw.
Keep this up until you start to lose the flavor when yo draw, then back the power down a notch. That's the "sweet spot for that flavor, and each flavore will have it's own sweet spot.

Coils:
Generally speaking, lower-ohm coils produce more vapor, so if the coil head you have in your mini is a 1.8ohm coil, you might want to ty a 1.6ohm coil.

Of course, you already know about the airflow - the more you have, the more vapor, and the longer you draw, the more vapor. So I would suggest that you target getting the most flavor first, then adjust for vapor.

Hope this helps, and Happy Vaping

So far, I've found that the BVac coils take a ml of fluid or so to unlock the flavor. I start with minimum voltage for four hits bump my voltage .2 until I get to where I want it.

It turns out that the first coil I put in my mini was a bum. I was wondering where all the flavor and vapor was that everyone was talking about. Then I swapped coils. It took some time to break in. Pardon the caps, but WOOOOO! There it was. I checked the chimney to make sure it wasn't spitting juice up in my mouth.

TL;DR - give it an ml or so to break in, then swap coils if it doesn't come around. It really seems to be exactly what has been hyped.

Heck, I think I helped my local shop sell two of them come Friday tonight at my Christmas Eve party.

Merry Christmas all. Or happy festivus or whatever you're into.

Hi thanks for the reply.

My liquid is high VG, 70/30. The EVOD produced a lot more vapor I noticed with less of a throat hit, but I was told single coils can't handle the power of the IStick.
I bought some new liquids, haven't recieved them yet it 60/40 VG/PG, would that help the flavor a bit?

Also I bought coils for the N-Mini at 1.6ohm but my IStick is reading 1.9ohm. So I set it on the lowest w/v and as I slowly go up I am not noticing any difference for flavor only more vapor with the most airflow and higher w/v.

I am just hoping to make the most with this new setup without having to constantly be buying new coils and burning through juice. Haha

LOL. we are exact opposites. i already have the nauti mini and am anxiously awaiting my istick which is in transit thru the usps. vaping the nauti mini on the smallest airhole gives me the best hit and most flavor. it depends on the juice whether i need to go up or down. im usually between 7-9 watts. the nauti mini hits so smooth you dont realize youve inhaled a lot of vapor so when you go for that throat hit it can tear your head off if not careful. haha.

I'm vaping your exact setup as i type. A strawberry 50/50 at 11 watts with a 1.8 burner in it,and its like drinking it, its so full of flavor. Having said that, ive noticed that the Nautilus burners are finicky, and it seems like they need to . . . . . . season? for lack of a better term. mostly im at 5 to 9 watts for most other juices, i even have a coil with the wick openings drilled open to 1/16th inch for my darker "breakfast" juice.

Yes, that should help the flavor a bit.

Try doing the same procedure at different airflow settings. If that doesn't make a difference as you increase power, then your juice has a wide range. Some heavily-flavored juices will not show much of a difference based on power.
