Hi guys,

I'm not brand new to vaping, but have switched back to analogs multiple times while trying
to figure this vaping thing out. :-x lol

I'm wondering if there is a way to clean my nautilus mini tank, and completely get rid of
the leftover juice and smell in the tank, especiall in the bottom portion where the coil sits.
I made the big mistake of letting the parts soak in rubbing alcohol and water. The alcohol
started to disintigrate the rubber around the drip tip, and it keeps peeling, lesson learned.
I've soaked the tank parts in boiling hot water and dish soap for a half and hour, and cleaned
with Q-tips and rinsed thorougly, but still the smell and leftover. I don't have any fancy machines
to clean it, not yet anyhow.

Any tips would be appreciated. :D

So 'rubbing' alcohol in my area comes in two varieties - isopropyl and then this mix concoction based on ethyl. Iso will generally air out .. the alternatives, not so much.

I'd suggest soak it for a minute in vodka, rinse and dry. Repeat that cycle a few times. 90% iso will work to, grain alc too, etc.

If it was ethyl based it might've also had camphor and other things in it and I hate to say it - but no joy. Don't even bother. That will linger for ages. :-/

The rubber seal at the bottom of the tank (glass seal oring) can be removed for cleaning. Sometimes juice flavor can get trapped under it (menthol, or cinnamon strong flavors can be the most difficult). Use a dull small pointed object "Carefully" to remove it and then it and the tank can be cleaned in water (vodka if you have it would be my choice). I tend to stay away from rubbing or isopropyl alcohol as I don't want the possibility of chemical residue. When I give a good cleaning I rinse with water. Use a new coil, but you can let the old coil soak in vodka for a few days and perhaps get more life out of it after it air drys fully.

Good luck.

Didn't realize it could be removed, good stuff. I'll try this. Think I'll go out and buy vodka and avoid the chemicals. :confused:Thanks for the quick replies!! :D
