Nautilus mini losing vapor?

Hi all, last Thursday I got my MVP2 in the mail with my nautilus mini tank. The first three days it worked wonderfully. Nice thick clouds of flavorful vapor and it made putting down the analogs so much easier. (Five days analog free babah wooohooo!) I only wish I had gotten into vaping sooner! It's not quite the same as an analog but its a very nice alternative to trying to quit analogs with patches or gum.

Anyway, after about three days I noticed that the vapor production tapered off some. It seems to do better if I adjust the airhole down to the smallest setting and just inhale slowly, but I'm also using ALOT of juice and the vapor seems to be getting weaker.

I am using 70/30 with 12mg of nicotine and I keep the MVP2 on about 11 watts or so. The coils are 1.8 and I do vape quite a bit right now.

I changed the coil for a new one, still the same problem. Its like I have to hold down the button longer and hit it slower to get any kind of real vapor.

Anyone else have this problem? I want to get it back like it was when I first got it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

couple things personally affect my vape experience:
1) hydartion, while it may not seem like a big thing vaping will slowly dry you out. Personally in the morning i reach for my ecig before I even get out of bed. My vapor production will be quite smaller compared to after I drink some water when I finally make it into the kitchen.
2) clean connections, once a week I take a qtip lightly dipped into rubbing alcohol and wipe out any gunk that has built up on the battery and topper threading area's.
3) my mood. When im really jonesing for a puff I tend to hit a little harder and won't get nearly as good of a pull. Longer, smoother pulls tend to work way better for me.

I used to smoke mini ecigs like the blus and I would hit those like I would a cigarrette and they were awful and never lasted long.

When I got this box mod I learned quickly that the key to vaping it right is not to take it in your lungs really. And hit it slower to really taste it. More like smoking a cigar. And if I want to feel more of a nicotine kick blowing it out my nose helps do that nicely. Honestly I like it much better than smoking a cigarrette when it works right.

Still it just seems like this thing is using more juice for not as much vapor and I did read alot of people on these forums say that these nautilus coils had to have a break in period of a few days. Thing is the first one that was in it was doing worse not better 3-4 days after I started using it so I dunno about that.

And thanks deleon for the hydration tip, I was ignorant of that. :)

Welcome aboard
Weak vapor production/flavor off/burnt - Take a couple of dry puffs and then a normal puff. If this helps then the problem is wicking and can sometimes be fixed by decreasing the air flow. Thick (high VG juice) can cause this.
Are you using the BVC coils or the BDC coils? Never tried the BVCs but according to the hype they are better. Gave my Nauts away before the BVCs were widely available.

When I started out I was hitting my Silver Bullet like I would an analog. I wasn't getting much vapor. Talked to a friend of mine and said I was pulling in the juice quicker than the coil could burn the juice. So, now I take slow long hits and produce awsome flavor and huge clouds.

I agree with this comment. Pulling on an ecig device is different than pulling on an cigarette. Those tiny coils may not be able to vaporize the e-liquid fast enough if you have a heavier draw. The excess, unvaporized e-liquid has no where to go but remain in the air chamber resulting in gurgling, juice in your mouth, or falling onto the clearo/battery connection.

A longer, slower, gentler draw will be benefitual.

As also stated, thicker viscosity (higher vg) e-liquids will quickly gunk up the coils resulting in less vapor production and a drop in flavor. Darker e-liquid flavors, and those with a high sugar content will also gunk up coils faster, requiring more frequent replacement.

I've had only limited use with Aspire Nautilus coils myself, but the word I've heard is that the vertical coils don't seem to last as long as the older-style horizontal coils. I would assume this is a personal preferance amongst individuals, and your experience may vary.
