Navigation suggestion..

I know people browse/navigate the forum differently... so this is just a question about a possibility for something I use and it would seem to me that others would too.

Let's say you're in the general forum and you're are reading a thread and at the bottom there are two choices -

'top' - which takes you to the top of the thread you were just reading, which actually is the fastest way to get back to the general forum - which after reading that thread is a natural place to go for the next thread in general. And...

'General forum' which to the left of that says "quick navigation" but it's a dropdown and you have to scroll down to 'general forum' in order to go their directly.

I suggest that either there's another tab to go directly back to the general forum or that in the "quick navigation" - the name of the button "general forum" is already defaulted so that when you click it again, you go to the general forum, rather than having to scroll.

IOW, I'm assuming that someone catching up or looking at the threads in the general forum would want to stay there until they're done browsing it, at which point - THEN they could go to the dropdown and say go off default and choose the new member forum or somewhere else.

There is a way to put the forum navigation hierarchy at the bottom of a thread page (pretty much like you see it in the top left). Doesn't look like it's active or coded in. vB is pretty configurable. Personally, I agree with you. I like that extra link to navigate at the bottom of the page/thread.

Thanks for chiming in. It seems like a 'natural place' unless one is going back up the same thread but in just browsing and trying to 'read through a forum' I think everyone that is interested in a thread enough to click on it is probably reading through it and getting to the end where then they are finished and will go somewhere else, and they may go to another forum but chances are they want back to the top of the one they are at and a 'default' highlight to the forum you're on - for a double click or another button to get back to the top of the forum would be nice.
