Haha.....you're a funny guy! Got to go paint a fender....

I hope Haw got some good sleep! I miss that guy round here!!

Leia, hope your bf finally came around last night...

Pitt, any big plans for the day?

Lol, I try!

Umm, probably.. Got a few projects around here and we are having dinner with the in-laws tonight. Other than that, I think it's going to be a little chill around here. You got anything lined up after your "body work"?

mornin all, yes after he sulked for a bit he eventually, and we got the problem down to the moniter which apparently this monior was notorious for just randomly going into safe mode, and his ssd drive which he has had the worst luck with...

Some SSDs are quite finicky still.. While I am sold on the concept, they haven't been around long enough to have everything ironed out

ya, like you said good concept just not field tested enough... also part of his issue is the brand they keep sending him the cosair 120 mb was notorious for scewing up... and they kept sending them out and telling you to update your firmware... at least he has a 3 year warranty on his computer. I still think it was his monitor for the most part and him getting pissy and turn on and off his computer every 3 seconds caused the ssd to start skipping also. I dont really know for sure but if it was a graphics card issue it wouldnt just put the monitor into sleep mode would it?

There are probably two main reasons your monitor is failing like that.. The monitor is faulty or the graphics card is the issue. Could be a simple connection issue, or it's crapping out. I would make sure to update all of the drivers and check on the manufacturers site for any known issues with the card.. Next in line would be the driver access from the SSD. I'm assuming that is the master boot drive and contains the OS with drivers?

If I had more info on the computer I might be of further assistance..

He already swapped out the ssd with a standard drive as his ssd had started refusing to load so thats no longer part of the equation... I just sat and watched like 4 HD you tube videos and nothing wierd graphically happened for me to think its the graphics card.. he cleaned out the computer last night and checked all the connections, everything was tight there.. so far this morning i havent seen the monitor just go off on its own yet but bf said it happened this morning i am currentlly waiting to see waht happens if it does then i will be moving my monitor to his comp and see if it shuts off with my monitor as well. This would be a non issue if he would just have let me hook my monitor up to his compt initially lol.

Have you guys checked out all the hibernation/sleep settings and just turned them off? Was the inside dirty and/or dusty? Temp monitor? May have had excess heat that was causing glitches with the GPU
