I believe you can over oxidize a wick. You would basically be burning it to the point where it tastes horrible. or it eliminates its capillarity (possibly?)

yeah, the AGA might be what I go with... the DID is out of my price range. I am thinking about the AGA and a name brand vivi nova with a couple SS heads
I finally rebuilt one of my nova heads with SS.. haven't tried it yet, but it looks pretty!

A couple guys are using machine screws as wicks....haven't read a whole lot, but I think they were saying it was working well!
